The laptop was taking hours to shutdown and boot up and errors cropping up all over the place especially from some of the preinstalled MSI utilities. The main culprit appears to have been a combination of windows 8 removing language packs which were not even showing as installed and MSI's own...
Has anybody else bought the MSI GT70 2OC-281UK 17.3" True HD LED, Intel i7-4700MQ, 8GB DDR3, 750GB HDD, NVIDIA GTX 770M 3GB, DVD-RW - Windows 8 Laptop?
Just a warning that u may have to spend several days on google etc and waiting for your laptop to "sort itself out" b4 u can use it!
If u are...
Might help
Unless advised not to by the Guru's on here :}
Try just mobo with nothing attached. Note beeps or otherwise then plug in cpu and repeat, noting beeps. Keep adding components and see what produces beep pattern You are getting. At least this should identify a faulty mobo if the same...
Thanks guys, I've taken the 'cheap' route and put it on thingybay
I would have liked to build a 'quiet' pc and try some o/cing on this one but I have not got the money at present :(
I have just become the owner of a T2600 in its sealed box ;) Is it worth playing with and, if so, what mobo's are suitable? Or, is it worth anything as I already have a decent rig and not a lot of money to play with at present :(
Yep!
Doing that at this very moment ;) Switching 2nd monitor between main machine and spare/downloads machine all the time. I do sometimes forget and 'lose' app's to the 2nd monitor
:D
I have recently swapped my San Diego 3700 for an X2 4400 and I'm glad I did!
My main worry was getting the same game performance whilst reaping the benifits of Dual Core. However, I needn't have worried as the X2 overclocks to the same 250x11 as my 3700 did. In fact the 4400 will happily...
;)
Almost certainly, I have tried both ways and indexing is now off on all my drives.
However:-
;)
Can't agree with that! If you do a 'boot time defrag' then a normal one after, Diskeeper will sort ALL files which includes tidying the mess Widozey leaves your HDD's in...
I would strongly dissagree! Most 'light' users can get away with an occational defrag' but it is still an essential if you want a fast machine. The first thing I do when somebody has a 'problem' with their machine is scan the registry and defrag the HDD. These two simple tasks often...
I am in the process of backing up approx. 1Terrabyre of video. It's all very special family stuff so I want to keep it as full AVI clips on hard drive. So far I have filled 2 WD 250 SE16's and started on two more but it seems a bit daft to leave them 'plugged in'.
So, to the question: Are...
I saw a remedy once, don't remember where, whereby you insert a length of pin sized wire into the appropriate hole in the socket. Then cut it off to just touch the chip with slight pressure when it's inserted (a bit of trial and error here). Push the CPU down when closing the retaining lever and...
Doesn't the P180 mount the mobo upside down? If this is the case, you may have to alter the passive cooling of the Asus Premium as it is designed for heat to flow UPWARDS from the chipset to cooling fins ABOVE the power regulating components where there's usualy a fan drawing heat out through...
Looks like the 3700 for gaming as you should get 2.7 Gig out of it. The X2 3800 may dissapoint unless you are doing a lot of multi-tasking. I just leave my rig transcoding when I'm not there to play with it! ;)
