    1080ti - help please

Thanks for all your suggestions. I've had to RMA the second card in the end as there is nothing else it can be. I tried a brand new EVGA GQ 1000W PSU (2 individual connectors for GPU power) and had the same result. I also tried with just a single monitor and an HDMI cable in case the Displayport...

    1080ti - help please

Thanks once again Gents, for all your help. A bit of an update. Even on a single monitor connected by HDMI, both cards are now crashing on Heaven and Valleys benchmark within 10 mins. I have used the latest drivers and also the EVGA recommended 388.59 driver from last December. DDU or a fresh...

    1080ti - help please

Many thanks for all your help so far. I know the case is a little bit toasty with all those hard drives in, but I have both sides off and all the old mechanical drives switched off while I'm trying to troubleshoot this. The CPU is cooled with a decent (but old) Noctua NH U12P with LGA 115X...

    1080ti - help please

Hi, I bought an EVGA 1080ti SC2 just before Christmas to replace my aging 7950 boost crossfire setup. For a month or 2 everything was fine, but then games started crashing and the Valleys benchmark would crash to desktop after about 10 minutes. Reinstalling Windows and running without non...

7950 crossfire still a good idea?

Thanks Andy, that's very helpful advice and confirms what I was thinking. I know the power consumption is going to be way up on a GTX780 or R9-290X, but it seems to be a faster setup than these cards. It seems that the forum is inundated with 7950 crossfire queries at the moment. I know not...

7950 crossfire still a good idea?

Hi Guys, I got a pair of new 7950's for a crossfire setup for about £350 quid, after seeing how much the new rebranded 7970's (R9-280X) were going to cost. The cards are still unopened and can be returned if I come up with a better idea (or more money!). I will be upgrading to a Haswell...

AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

An large US retailer just leaked the price of these at $729.99 before tax.:o Looks like it's going to be a bit rich for me, sadly.:(

Yes it is. It's as released in Germany recently. There are 5 German bloatware apps to uninstall and you have to alter the selection of language to UK English. Apart from that it seems great!:p

Seems about right, I just got about 19MB per second on a benchmark. Still seems fast enough to prevent any slowdown in games though.

You could just flash and your data should be fine, although I always like to do a factory reset after a flash.

No, I tried the MEA Rom yesterday. You cannot move the apps onto the card.

It can take the 64GB cards and the Samsung UHS1 64GB is the best by far. There have been too many glitches with the Sandisk ones in Samsung phones to take the risk. 20MB per second write and 70MB per second read is very impressive.:)

I just flashed this new XXUBMEA firmware to allow me to put my apps onto the sd card and it works an absolute treat! With the Samsung UHS1 memory card able to read at 70MB per second there is no noticeable slowdown. I'm chuffed to bits with this phone now. There is some german bloat installed...

Does anyone know the best firmware to flash this phone with? My preferences are to reduce the bloat as much as possible.;)

The bottom of the box will say either quad core or octo core. The quad is obviously the 9505 version.

Thanks for the advice. I've gone with the 16gb S4 with a Samsung UHS1 64gb card. I was all set to root it and then noticed that the update that had automatically gone on, had changed the kernel and baseband. Apparently the new baseband version (ending in MDM) is not rootable. Anyone know...

I'm still trying to work whether I can be bothered to wait for the 32GB model or acecept that Vodafone will probably not stock it. I pretended to be an entirely new customer to see if I could get any new information and was told a load of rubbish about how you can still use app2sd to move apps...

Thanks for the reply Snapdragon. My issue was that I'd heard you could only store pictures, music, etc on the memory card and apps will only go onto the internal storage. Is there away round this without rooting the phone? A few big gameloft games and you are out of storage.
