    BMW and M Power Owners

    1. Must be an auto (that's easy to fulfill) - The V8V isn't a proper auto, but an old single plate clutch, so worth bearing this in mind and whether or not you'd be happy with this. 2. Must carry 4 adults + dog (easy in some cars) - The V8V coupe will be fine with 2 passengers and a...

The RAC have lost my car.

Does this not mean that you now have car back, but will also have a claim on your insurance?

2 seater with a family, some advice

I don’t understand the 2 seater justification point. The real question you need to ask is if spending £100k on a car is something you can really afford going into what looks like a considerable recession. If so, then crack on.

2 seater with a family, some advice

I have a 2007 Vantage which I’ve had had for several years and 2 kids which I’ve had for slightly fewer. I also have a 5 series touring. I won’t be getting rid of the Vantage. ETA: not really sure of the point of the thread if you have already decided to buy the car and also have a family car...

    Vantage vs MGT

Just on this - I have found the build quality (and materials used) to be generally very good. Paint finish is usually excellent, but the paint is quite soft, so you do need to look after it. I have had door handle corrosion repaired, but it's not too expensive. Panel fit and finish should be top...

    Vantage vs MGT

Just seen this! I've got a 2007 V8V (4.3) which I've owned for about 6 and a half years now - happy to answer any qs! I bought it after many years of e46 M3 ownership and have had a few Bamford Rose tweaks done to it - it's actually in next week for the later V8S Bilstein upgrades. Overall...

    How are people affording cars?

Clutch and flywheel were original I believe! I bought it at 97k/3yrs and I think you bought it off me at 130k/6.5yrs. BMW said there had been no major warranty work done before I bought it.

Adulting time - Baby on the way

We’ve managed fine with a 3 door M135i with one. The doors are so big that I’ve not found it too difficult getting a child (and dog) strapped into the back. The boot is fine for a pram. I got a seat protector to go under the child seat so that it doesn’t mark the leather. Just vacuum the car...

Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

I’m guessing you haven’t driven a performance car in the last 20 years, but most will do over 60mph in 2nd gear...

Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

By that logic, what's the point in having any car which does more than 70mph that you're not going to track? It's not as if the long gearing even means that it's slow to 70.

Why would you only be able to use it up to mid-way through the rev band in 2nd?

Car insurance- why so high in the UK!

Is it not fair that the premium actually reflects the fact that your car is insured in your postcode rather than your parents’?
