    Cube I7 Stylus

Depends where you buy it from. By the way the tablet is available with the keyboard, stylus and a UK plug (one of those chargers where you can change the actual pugs US/EU/UK) from a large Brazilian river (UK). Works really well and Win 10 activated fine.

    PVR options for Virgin Removal

Humax dtr-2000t HD pver here for the last couple of years. Brilliant. The EPG is miles better than Virgin's even now. Not sure how it compares to Sky but when we ditched Sky 2 years ago the Humax's UI was much better there as well. As for missing he beginning ans end of programmes you can...

Need to be within 2-3 feet to see the difference between 4K and Blu Ray - proof

Strange post smacking of desperation to "prove" a point? A little while ago you posted a link to another article which showed 48 out of 49 people correctly spotting the difference between 4K and HD at 9 feet?

    Amazon Fire TV

OK, thanks. I haven't noticed any differences but I was just wondering if there any processing overheads which it would be beneficial to shift to the Fire TV box rather than have the TV do?

    Amazon Fire TV

Quick question. I have the a new Fire TV box and a new Samsung TV with the Amazon app on it. Is there any benefit in streaming content via the box to the TV rather than directly using the TV app?

    Amazon on Samsung TV

Poor quality of today's actors' craft rather than the streaming technology. My old mother continuously bemoans the mumbling of actors nowadays.

    Recommendations for a 48" Tv

Then again you could be one of the 48 out of 49 people who spotted the "very slight upgrade in PQ" as described in the article. Now 3D, that really is pants :)

    Recommendations for a 48" Tv

Hi, Just bought the Samsung 48JU6000 48 Inch UHD 4K Smart LED TV. It is brilliant, does everything I want from a TV. Not seen any lip sync issues, juddering or artifacts and I've been playing with it enough to get into trouble with her indoors. I've got Amazon Prime which plays...

    Performance anxiety...

Actually 3ghz was a typo (copy and paste) it is at 3.6 (9*400). Won the CPU in a raffle at an event organised by Antec :D

    Performance anxiety...

Cheers guys. Mcstylist, just ideas at the moment, I just really don't know what mileage I'll get with newer components for my usage at that res.

    Performance anxiety...

Hi, I haven't been on these forums for ages (since Jan 2012 apparently:eek:). That's probably because I managed to curb my PC upgrade addiction. However, I'm now suffering performance anxieties. Because I have been completely out of the loop on PC developments in the last 18 months I now know...

    QX9650 vs Q6600

Thanks. I've got it at 1.46 in the BIOS, but that drops to 1.41 because of vdrop/vdroop (can't remember which it is now). It was at 1.5  Seems to be stable. The cooling I am using is a Corsair H50 with 2 files attached so hopefully that is enough.

    QX9650 vs Q6600

Selling it does sound attractive. However, I am a bit loathe to do it as it was a gift and it was an engineering sample in the first place. Is there any way the chip can be traced back? I wouldn't want to place my brother in a difficult situation professionally. In the meantime. I ran OCCT...

    QX9650 vs Q6600

Been away. Thanks for all the posts. Just for info the QX9650 was given to my by my brother who is an electrical engineer. He got it free from Intel direct as an engineering sample. So I'm a bit reluctant to sell it. Also, it is working nicely at 4ghz so I think I will leave it at that and...

    QX9650 vs Q6600

Not hesitant to upgrade, I just did... Nor arguing that it isn't faster just reporting as I said I would. Also, highlighting to all those people on Q6600 that it is still a good CPU. Oh, and it wasn't "given" to me, it was given to me.

    QX9650 vs Q6600

    So the QX9650 is in and running apparently OK (prime, occt) at 4ghz (400x10). I've done a quick run of 3dm6 q6600 = 18000 qx9650 = 20500 Doesn't seem a huge difference.

    QX9650 vs Q6600

Thanks for the replies. I have one of those corsair CPU water cooler things. Would that be good enough to take the QX9650 towards 4ghz? Otherwise, I still have my noctua air cooler somewhere. I do value the generally quieter corsair though. Looks like I will take the time to do the swap. I...

    QX9650 vs Q6600

Just had a QX9650 given to me and I was wondering what kind of increase I would see over my ageing Q6600 @ 3.6? See, I might well be too lazy (true) and or busy (little one) nowadays to swap the Q6600 out if there isn't a real difference. Looking for some encouragement really.

I'm struggling to think of an Intel GPU even they could stump up as an alternative?
