    Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

Sorry for the bad photo, i really have nothing good at the moment. This is a project i've been working on for some time now, finally got it all mounted on the wall. And yes, i still managed to get a few things wonky.

Speakers are Monitor Audio Bronze 1 Amp is a Cambridge Audio A5. I almost went for the BX2 speakers but felt i didn't need the extra power. They are also physically larger and would have stood too high on the posts.

Does anyone not have a smartphone by choice?

Battery life is what stops me from overusing my phone, but i do tend to use it more for e-mail, IM and as a general tool for getting information i may need while out and about. But, i am also using a fairly old smartphone which is still in good condition. HTC HD2, NativeSD Android 4.0.2, i've...

    laggy Mint 13

Just thought I would write a small update on this weird problem. I've narrowed it down to 2 possibilities which are not connected. I noticed the lag happened after plugging my Laptop into the mains so, I thought it was power profile related. I also noticed this lagging happened when running...

    laggy Mint 13

Hi All, I've wanted to try out Linux on my laptop for a while, after testing various different distros on VM and testing them on my laptop via live USB, I decided to go with Mint 13 Cinnamon. I really like the UI and the overall speed of the OS but I have run into a lag problem and I have...

Try and put me off this Netbook choice - ASUS Eee PC T101MT

Hi all, bit of a very late update but I thought I would let you know what life is like with the Packard Bell Butterfly Touch after a couple years of use. in a word... Pointless. The laptops size and overall power / battery life is very good, i can easily get 8 hours out of it doing...

    Win 95 / 98 games and Windows 7 ?

Windows 7 XP mode doesn't really have DX support. VirtualBox from oracle has some DX support but it's limited at best. Dual boot is your best option. i'm not 100% sure but WINE on Linux might help as that uses Windows APIs and some Dx features as well. again, this all depends on the game.

Hi, Unless they have changed it recently, it's free to park in designated parking bays free. Except in Westminister. It’s £1 a day or something i would like to add, good luck finding space.

Any ideas why my tv aerial isn't working?

Hi there. there are a few places this can cause problems. try a new cable from box to TV. try a seperate reciever (freeview box, if you have one spare or can borrow one) try re-doing the box on the wall. If you're still getting problems then it's up to the building managers to get the cabling...

Check this out, PC gaming is cheaper than Consoles

That article is stupid. PCs are more expensive because... They do a lot more than just playing games. my PC, for example, has a FreeSat card, it is my media centre, it is my gaming rig, it is used for work, it is used for communication (email, VoIP, IM etc..) and encoding. The value comes...

Steve Jobs vowed on the demise of android!

I for one am glad both exist, the competition has helped make smartphones mainstream, where as before the iPhone, there was WinMo 6.1 and the improved 6.5 And of course RIM, with it's horrible patented UI and ball navigation. of course, both WinMo 6.1, 6.5 and RIM smartphones were all aimed at...

"We no longer insure in that area"

My motorcycle insurance went up over £300 compared to last year, and that is the cheapest quote i can find. i am fully expecting this time next year not finding any insurance companies that would insure me. 26 years old, 6 years no claims, full license, bike anchored and chained on driveway...

    Verified by VISA [rant]

When it first came out I did have the occasional issue with passwords not being recognised, but this has since disappeared. The main issue I had was Firefox and NoScript, if the site wasn’t added to the white list to start with it wouldn’t refresh properly, and I would have to go through it all...

    Hole in Battery

Ow, that's painful. I've seen the YTX12-BS cheaper at 1 or 2 places I ordered mine from Busters. That was my main concern, there doesn’t appear to be any damage beyond what was done to make the hole in the battery.
