Currently running a [email protected] and was thinking of an upgrade. But seeing as I run mainly run iracing which seems to be all about single/double core performance I really dont know which direction to go with an upgrade. 9600k/9700k or maybe 3700x. Nothing is simple nowdays, thanks for any advice...

Cpu usage was at 100% and gpu was ticking along :(. Changed the cpu to an i5 and then gpu was 100%

I found my q6600 to be a massive bottleneck with a 6950 so I'll think you'll have the same problem. Time for a CPU upgrade me thinks.

Dump Shadow volumes and high res mirrors ... should help a fair bit

All he plays is iracing. Motherboard is an ASUS M4a78l-m and a Tagan 500w psu(which he'd have to change as it hasnt got the connections for a modern grafix card)

My mates currently running a athlon x4 620 with 4gb and an ATI 5850 1gb . 3 screens at (1680x1060x3) but fps are starting to dip alittle too low. I've seen a system on ocuk theres a i3 3220 8gb ddr3 and ati 7850 2gb at a great price(£460), is this a worthwhile upgrade or should he just...
