could it be that my fan is spinning the wrong way? I can feel no air coming out from the back of the card (even with fans on full), only underneath the fan? I'll take it apart tonight and make sure there isn't another dust clog inside it. Cheers for the advice.

Cheers. The fan on my reference Palit card draws air into the case through the vents on the card and blows it down. Should it be be blowing air across the GPU then?

Thanks for the advice with the fan. The one on the card was completely clogged up! Cleaned this out and now getting about 50-55 at idle and about 95-97 under load. Better but still way too hot. Will attempt to reseat the heatsink tomorrow. What thermal paste would you recommend? Its the stock...
