The 3080 is the flagship CONSUMER card with the 3070 being the mid range. The 3090 is meant to be a card for pro's but as we are on a forum surrounded by super enthusiasts talk of buying a 3090 as a consumer card is common but elsewhere not so much.......the low vram count is another story though :)

I have had the same problem for over a year, loud noise on power up for 5-10 minutes then everything is fine for the rest of the day. Just took it as a cold start problem and has caused no issues so far so just learned to ignore it until the next time I do a rebuild.

A new BIOS just landed for the Asus x370 Prime Pro (0604) which contains the AGESA update, might be worth checking other models support pages if you have one.

Not the worst choice, I got my 1700 with a prime x370 pro up and running today and have it running solid as a rock at 3.9 with 3k memory using DCOP profile overclocking method, was quick and easy. (0504 BIOS ofc)

You should be getting the stated speed and timings at the normal 1.35 volts, if not you'd probably be best off waiting for a bios update than over-volting the ram as that's unlikely to help.

Well it looked like 2133 memory speed, 3.6 gig clock speed and a 980 gtx so although ok for comparison between chips I'd be expecting some better numbers to be coming tomorrow.

The Noctua AM4 kit uses the backplate already supplied with the motherboard (you just replace the bracket on the top of the board with the Noctua kit) so if other heatsinks do the same then the fault lies with the backplate supplied by the motherboard manufacturer.

I plan on using my NH-D14 if I upgrade to Ryzen (already bought the AM4 bracket from the rainforest just in case as I didn't want to wait a couple of weeks after purchase for the free upgrade) I would absolutely not spend £75 on an NH-D15 as the difference will be negligible.

I was wondering why you skipped the 6850 on these bundles, on the face of it the 6850's extra pcie lanes over the 6800 seem a good thing.

Looks like their idea of custom backs was to release a 3D printer file where you design and print your own.......just add 3D printer :rolleyes:
