    New Build QUestion

Just starting to put my new PC together, I've an AM2 3500 retail processor which has it's own fan. The instructions mention you should always use thermal compound but I can see none in the box. Should it have some? I notice the bottom of the fan has a grey pad on it, is this instead of the...

    New Spec Please

Need to put together a basic surfing and office type applications spec. Just need MB, cpu, memory and disk, DVD Like the samsung disks, 1GB memory, probably the LG DVD on "This week only", don't play games so on board graphics would be OK or a cheap graphics card if that's a better...

    New case and PSU

My current PSU is on the way out, the fan rattles and sometimes the PC will not boot and sometime when putting extra load on the system, like burning CDs it powers down. I'm therefore thinking of getting a new case/psu prior to upgrading the rest of the system at a later date. I quite like...

    PC Boot problems

Just lately I've been having an odd problem starting my PC. If I leave a DVD/CD in the drive the PC will not start it. It fires up the fans start, I get a single beep and then nothing, total silence. The system is not totally down as I have to hold the power button in for a few seconds as if I'm...

Spec Me ... a cheap as chips PC!

No modern or even old processor is going to be stretched by a bit of word processing, I really doubt you'll notice any difference between a sempron 2600 and an FX62, except in the amount of money left in your wallet. For the type of system you say the need you could easily go for something...

    Antec, something to consider

Where did you but it from, unless I'm mistaken your contract is with the supplier not Antec. If it's faulty they should arrange for it's repair, unless you boought it from Antec direct.

Keyboards, monitors and mice are down to individual preferences, not sure why you would want gaming type keyboards and mice for an office PC, money could be saved there.
