The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

OCUK, Asrock doesn't deal with the likes of we minions. Not at all, but don't forget my airflow set up is far from normal with the gpu sitting in a trough type shroud and a 200mm intake at one end and a 200mm exhaust at the other so it get's plenty of cool air and the hot air is dumped out of...

    Beard dying?

Mines patchy as hell and would have looked awful in my wedding photo's.

How often do you use a pen or pencil to write?

Things to come back and check on, sequences of puzzles and stuff like that. I don't play multiplayer games.

The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

My Asrock is 3 years and OCUK lists the Sapphire as three years as well.

    Beard dying?

I did for my wedding as I didn't want a mess off white and grey hairs in our photographs even though it make me look wise and distinguished!! :D:D:D

How often do you use a pen or pencil to write?

Several times a day, usually making notes when gaming or doing research on something.

The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

I have got power draw down to below 200w peak now. I have been playing ETS2 for the past couple of hours and peak power draw ranged from 188w-198w. I am chuffed to bits with that plus it hasn't cost me any performance as it's still maintaining 165fps. Vram usage has now increased to 9428mb on...

The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

Not a chance. I don't think I have ever had any component apart from a case and psu for more than three years. My Asrock Steel Legend is extremely quiet and has no coil whine. It does have a 200mm intake fan in front of it and another exhausting behind it so that helps a lot to keep temps and...

That's what my Cleo does every night. I watch something on one of the streaming services before going to sleep and Cleo will come in, come upstairs and jumps on the bed (even when soaking wet!!) and she walks up the bed between me and the wife. She goes all the way up onto my pillow and I have...

    Fractal?

Reviews are of the original not the new version. Efficiency depends on the load you are going to put on it. The more you pull from it the less efficient it is. With the origional Ion+ it was most efficient up to around 335w and once above that the efficiency got worse so you should aim to be...

Ozzy and Cleo? Cleo is very much like your beautiful pair but Ozzy is something else altogether. They are brother and sister from a litter of just two and Ozzy is very different to his sister in both markings and temperment. She is gentle while he is a brute!! He has the strongest jaws of any...

    Show us your kitty cats

Sooooooo cute. They are like my Cleo and Ozzy used to be. Now they are huge with Ozzy weighing over 6 kilos and still managing to look scrawny. This is them at 10 weeks old when we first got them. Cleo decided to use Ozzy as a pillow. This is the most recent I have of them and taken in the...

The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

It was mainly for the vram but hitting my monitors max refresh rate for the first time is a welcome boost as well. The 3070 never came anywhere near it in most of my games. Yes it could have if I turned the details down but whats the point of a fancy 1440p monitor if the games don't look nice.

    Need a PCI-E Cable Extender

You know a 1x card will fit in any pci-e slot? It doesn't have to be a 1x slot. Did the M2 drive share bandwidth with the 1x slot so now you have used it as a M2 the pci-e 1x slot is now disabled?

The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

No and I'm not going to either. The idea was to get the power draw down not increase it. The card is already exceeding it's stock boost of 2333mhz and is sustaining 2425mhz while remaining extremely quiet. I am also still finding my way around the Adrenaline software talking of which, why do...

The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

Got the power draw down to 228w with the odd peak of 252w so that's more or less where the 3070 was at while playing ETS2. Fps is pretty solid at 165, it's really smooth and looks great too. The card is now hitting 2425mhz boost. Temps are down to 62 degrees with a 72 degree C hotspot and fans...

    Train over Welland Viaduct

As it's maintained by Network Rail it's on the national network. I believe it's mainly a freight line now but there used to be a couple of services a day from St.Pancras that went over it (East Midlands Trains maybe).

The RX 7900 GRE - A strangely flawed product?

The gpu is on a pci-e 4.0 riser and sits in a shroud so the only place for the hot air to go is straight out of the rear exhaust. You can see it a bit better in this picture. The shroud was originally built to get the heat away from my M2 drives which were getting cooked so I built the shroud...
