    10k - Spec me a daily driver

Quite a few Honda's within the price range but most are the 1.0l 3 cylinder - the wet belt and all associated issues really put me off this. A terrible design, similar to the 1.0l EcoBoost engines which inevitably go bang!

    10k - Spec me a daily driver

Thanks for the suggestions all - will take a look. I was considering a Nissan Juke but they appear to have shocking reliability! Seat Leon and Mazda 3 look to be a good shout

    10k - Spec me a daily driver

Hi all - a bit stumped at what I should be looking for at the moment, have a few ideas in my head but looking for some inspiration for a reliable daily driver that's also not too old. Criteria: Price: £10k - I don't want to be scraping the barrel for high-mileage examples Fuel: Petrol (no...

    Spec Me Euro V8

Debatable, especially if you're talking about the M156 E63, the M113K engine is much more reliable and powerful after some simple mods. To get into M157 territory (superior to both the M113K and M156) you would want to spend more than £15k to get a decent example.

CLS55 AMG - you won't get a better package for that budget.

    Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

Picked this up last week :) Every optional extra apart from massage seats and radar cruise control (which have heard breaks anyway) - it's more comfortable than my dad's E Class! Already thinking about pulley and remap...

*** The Car Cleaning Thread ***

Best way to restore headlights? I've previously used the 3M kits (wet sand and polish) but was wondering if there were any better kits/methods available? The headlight restoration wipes seem like a farce!

    Maserati Gran Turismo 4.2 Thoughts?

They sound and feel absolutely amazing! Shameless plug...my brother is currently selling his (GTS MC Shift) which is absolutely immaculate!

    Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

Yep pretty much what I expected and have read. I've heard that the 5G tronic is a pretty strong box (more so than the 7G tronic). Saw one today which was "mint" in the photos and online but not that great up close - the supercharger whine was very very loud on idle and accelerating, is this...

    Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

In the market for a CLS55 AMG - as far as I've read the engines are pretty solid with few gripes to look out for. Anything in paticular that I should be concerned with? The plan is to fit a smaller pulley, X-pipe and a remap. (Anyone know of a good one going? - Not many decent examples around!)

Yup was looking at those, the automatics seem rate to come by (understadable), was looking at Toyota Auris as well

Not sure what to go for...spec me a cheap daily £3000ish

Approximately 16 miles a day, 5 days a week, it'll also be used as the main run-around.

Not sure what to go for...spec me a cheap daily £3000ish

It's highly modified with a racing spec clutch etc...not the best to use in start stop traffic in short journeys. We also need a second car, hence this thread. :)

Which A3? The S3 is not suitable as a daily to commute

Not sure what to go for...spec me a cheap daily £3000ish

Looking for a cheap daily runaround, any suggestions? Requirements: - 5 door - Automatic - Small(ish) - think Nissan Note, Toyoto Auris - Not Saloon - Petrol - Budget: £3000 ish - Cheap to run - Reliable - Not bothered about speed but want it to feel okay for motorway runs - Not bothered...

    Audi owners in here!

Personally I would go for the 2.0T. The 3.2 V6 does sound much nicer however the 2.0T can be tuned to have MUCH more power and torque relatively easily and cheaply (300BHP+ for a simple Stage 1 Remap). It's ultimately down to your personal preference, if you're planning on keeping everything...

Explain to me (in simple terms) this hate for diesel?

Kind of :) It seems that the public have been brainwashed to think that diesels will always save them money irregardless of their driving habits

Explain to me (in simple terms) this hate for diesel?

TLDR - Diesels pump out relatively more "bad stuff" that tends to offset MPG savings for the majority of drivers + diesels on the road

Mine seems to use a tiny bit, nothing too worrying...but I frequently change the oil so I haven't really noticed.
