I've stuck one of these in a 2010 13" MBP within a week of buying the MBP.
Hitachi HTS725050A9A364
Provides a useful 500GB. The only difference I found between this and the original 250GB (IIRC) its not as silent as the original drive, but still quiet enough for my purposes.
TBH, the doors on my P180 are normally off as I'm usually faffing on with drives and I get tired of the lower bay cabling etc.
Thanks for the tip on the Lian Li PC- B10
That is one very nice case and would last for years as its very easy to replace parts in. Just that price tag is a bit...
I hope someone can help me out here.
Its time for a new build based around i7/P55 for the lower power consumption etc and I'm looking at my very tatty and tired out Antec P180 :-(
So I want to replace the P180 with a case that's as quiet, but does all the 'modern' stuff like, power cables...
I use a Logitech Wave keyboard with an MX mouse. Logitech provide their own driver software which has always worked well for me; with the extended keys.
As for the UK keyboard problem. Under SL you need to ensure you use a 64 bit keyboard setup (not available from Apple) as you'll find non-SL...
I had to deal with Dell Customer Support recently and was highly fearful that I'd end up in a world of pain after reading on here about other people's experiences with Dell and the many monitor swaps.
I had a problem with a 2407WFP, the screen was still perfect though. Called up Dell gave them...
re: 9.7s and Win7 (16385).
ATI claimed they'd enabled the Video Encoding option for x64 Windows products in 9.7; I couldn't see it. In fact ATI wouldn't even publish my comments regarding why it had gone AWOL.
Has anyone seen the mythical Video Encoding option under any variant of x64...
Hi,
I've recently upgraded to a 1920x1200 monitor and I've been pouring over the reviews of the 8800GTS/GTX & the HD2900 cards.
Has anyone here recently upgraded from 7800GTX to any of the above cards using the 1920x1200 res, if so what was the improvement like?
BTW: I'm running Vista...
:(
Very interesting, thank you.
I'll keep an eye on the xlr8yourmac.com site instead! Hope there's a fix available soon. In the meantime, I'll be holding off purchasing this monitor.
Moof - please do.
I'm v.interested in how this monitor performs under OSX. What mac are you running this with and if its a PowerMac/MacPro what GFX card are you using?
BTW: Have you used a calibrator on the LCD monitor to use a custom profile?
Many thanks.
Hi,
I'm been uhm'g and ahh'g about replacing an Apple 17" LCD Studio Display (used on both Mac & PC) for nearly a year for a widescreen one. Problem is I can never decide whether a 20" WS is too small after a 17" but a 22" WS will when suffer from not looking as sharp as a 20" one. My main...
A few months ago I switched from a Asus nforce4 mobo to an Asus Crossfire 3200 mobo, no other hardware was changed. All I did was uninstall the nforce drivers. Shutdown the system, swapped over the mobos, booted up XP and that was it. Simple.
YMMV.
Do you run any de-frag software? As previously I thought my machine was the victim of a rouge app, or Windows was just, well you know, knackered!
After installing some 'proper' de-fragging s/w all was well again.
Just a thought.
You can get eSATA => SATA cables. I bought an Icy Box SATA enclosure a while back then added the cable for hooking up to the Asus motherboard. Works aok.
Got a P180 yesterday and was all transplanted in around an hour.
This is the first case I've paid more than 30quid for so I was kinda hoping for something good.
So? - 1st off here's what's in it (nothing to stress the air cooling but that's not why I bought the case).
Athlon 3000+...
