@Devprotim Das How big a piece of 7950 did you need to cover the die of the 3090?
I've been told that Thermalright Heilos is actually PTM7950, as the spec sheets are identical. There's a lot of fake 7950 about..
There's a chap on YouTube who has tested loads of different puttys and compared them and you're right.. they do look like mither to apply and remove again!
Is the PTM reusable if you decide to remove the CPU cooler?
What's even more bizarre is I've come to the forum today to talk about graphics cards for the first time in months and months, I did a post in there and then stumbled in to GD to see what's going on these days and I spotted this thread talking about Fireworks!
I'm too old and tight to buy...
I'm thinking of trying some PTM7950 on my 3080 FE as the thermal paste pump out over time just ruins my hotspot, not sure if to stay using thermal pads.. or move over to a thermal putty instead though.
Best of luck! :D
My switch from BT to Zen went fine on the Broadband side.. but something went wrong with the digital voice that took them a day and a half to fix, we got incoming calls, but couldn't do outgoing!
Loving the Fritzbox they send, have bought two more off eBay and set them up as...
Yes, they slightly lowered the pricing yesterday and replaced the 12 Month FTTC contract duration with 18months it seems.
Have signed up today as we were paying £42+ with BT anyway, and I'm fed up with Plusnet/BT putting the price up every year in line with the CPI +whatever % they feel like...
Ah no worries ta.
I need to move from BT to 'something' FTTC Based as the contract expires in two weeks. Currently paying £42ish a month with BT for the 80/20 product along with a phone package which we need.
Looking at £40 a month for Zen with the Digital Voice.. or £36ish with Plusnet, but...
Had FTTC since 2016.. always had an external Bridge Tap that has been a nightmare to get removed by Openreach, check this out for a result!

Nice! Thanks, my delta between core and hotspot is 10 at idle and gets between 14 and 15 under load, I'm wondering if I didn't clamp the screws down tight enough on the X bracket, but I didn't want to strip the Hex head so I went easy on them.
Thank you Matt, greatly appreciate it. You can always drop me a trust message if you want to keep it off the forum.
Sorry for derailing your thread OP, hope you enjoy whichever card you decide to go with!
Any idea when they'll allow the UK to buy from there again? Beyond a joke now that it still says 'We are temporarily unable to process shipments to the United Kingdom.' after several months..
I've wanted an AMD card since launch at MSRP and still can't get one, whilst hundreds of people...
My advice is to leave it alone and wait to see what temps you have when gaming..
After repadding a lot of people have issues with hotspot temps on the core as the pads aren't quite as squishable as the stock ones.
