    PSU recomendations

Hi, Looking for a recomendation. I need a 350W min PSU with the 4+4 pin connector for the motherboard. My only other need is a slightly longer lead for the 4+4, I need it to be about 40cm. Budget is about £50 Thanks!

Asus M5 A97 Pro PSU question

Hi all, Been out of the hardware game for a while so I'm not sure about this. I bought this motherboard hoping to use a few of my older componants to keep my build costs cheaper. However I have just hit a potential snag, the PSU in the old machine was a 450W so I was hoping to use it and its...

    Best CPU for around £100

Just seen that, is the OC price including or excluding the cash back? If its not including then it will only be £5 over my budget

    Best CPU for around £100

Yea then thats no good. Without that the VM OS just go around in a loop. I'll look in to the AMD, as its something I need I'll have to find a way.

    Best CPU for around £100

Sure, I thought I'd ask about the CPU first as it dictates everything else but it is better if we can get it done in one hit The plan is to get a working PC with a mixture of older componants and new, then upgrade over then next few months. I have a working HDD, GFX card (PCI-e), case, PSU...

    Best CPU for around £100

Thanks, The i3 had caught my eye but I was struggling to find comparitive benchmarks. To be honest I am not overy fussed either way with AMD or Intel. Traditionally I have had AMD, but its all about the best CPU not the badge on the dye.

    Best CPU for around £100

Hi, Been out of the loop for a while and now I am all at sea with hardware etc. Need to build a new system on a budget so I am looking at spending about £100 on a CPU. At the moment the only real spec must have is the ability to do proper harware virtulisation, but I am guessing that is...

    Windows 7 bare bones edition

Yea I know there was a 64 bit version of XP - IIRC its a little patchy. Also I'll be buying a new version of Windows so 7 really is the only option. I got better frame rates in UT 2007 by having a gaming only boot of XP barebones edition so my knowledge is coming from first person experiance...

    Windows 7 bare bones edition

Really? I got a lot better results by having a gaming only version of XP bare bones. I only really will use Windows for games as I have a Linux install for everything else. Its been a while since I messed with PC games (I know, but I had no space) and I'd like to squeeze every bit of performance...

    Windows 7 bare bones edition

Hi, A few years back I installed a Windows XP barebones edition that stripped everything out of a windows install that was not required to play games. I am wondering if there is a Windows 7 equivalent out there? Thanks -Howard Webb

Windows XP 32 bit vs Windows 7 64 bit

Well its a laptop and a relativly new-ish one (about 18 months) but I can't remember the CPU and I'm in work but I think its a Intel Core 2 Duo P8600. I would use the extra RAM when running VMs/VPCs so that would be nice. Ideally I'd like to go up to 8GB (and I would use that) but the cost is...

Windows XP 32 bit vs Windows 7 64 bit

Hi, I'm thinking of making the jump in to the lovely world of 64 bit but I have a question. What is the system overhead on the OS like running the 32 bit version of Windows XP vs the 64 bit Windows 7? I have 4GB of RAM in my systems and was kinda hoping that the extra resources Windows 7...
