    What watch do you wear?

Nice! That a 103? I was really tempted by a 103, or a 358, but it would have stretched the budget too much, and I felt the 104 is a perfect daily wear for me. Love chronos though, and the limited edition 103 panda dial is epic!

    What watch do you wear?

Yeah 41mm. I've got skinny wrists, but bit sits really nice, given the curve on the lugs and fairly slim overall height.

    What watch do you wear?

My 40th birthday present arrived early! Managed to get a Sinn 104 A ST SA second hand in MINT condition for a very good price! it's my first dabble in to the higher end watch scene. Definitely have my eye on a few others, but this should see me good for many years as my everyday watch.

    Platypus' Beginners Guide to Running

I've started to get back in to my running. Getting out for a 10k 500m ascent run 2-3 times a week on a work lunchtime, then a 8.5 mile run home at least once a week. Not really got any excuse living where I do, surrounded by amazing trails. Just ordered a new Pair of Inov8 X-Talons as well. I...

    Post Your Garden!

Bought our place in October 2015, in need of FULL renovation. Have been busy stripping it back to the stonework and rebuilding it. I have yet to make any serious attack on the garden, but it holds so much potential! Covers about 1/2 acre with a a load of birch trees, a meadow area, a well, and...

    OcUK Dadsnet thread

My little boy turns 1 soon! What a whirlwind year that has been! In true Grand Designs style, me and the Mrs bought a house that needed total renovation right before finding out she was pregnant. So the little man has mostly been living in a building site so far. Cudos to those with more than...

So the 69 mile ultra marathon was too short...

Yeah, I would like to do the UTMB, but needing 8 points to even get it makes it a lifestyle choice! The Wall race gave me 1 point towards the UTMB. Even the 268 miles spine race is only 3 points!

Weather finally looks good tomorrow, so for the 3rd or 4th time I am going to try and get out to Ben Macdui tomorrow on skis. Every other time I have tried it, it has been white out conditions with 60-70mph winds! looking forward to a nice long tour. :)

Must have been doing something wrong. Like falling! :p I've used Tech bindings a bit and love them tbh. For touring it makes life way easier and the skis much lighter. They don't have a toe release but the back still has a 'DIN' release to kick you out if you spleen it.

    mega storms uk next week

Up here in the Cairngorms we are seeing 50mph+ most days with 100mph+ at least once a week. Hit 150mph ish the other week. Anything under 60mph is good skiing weather for me at the moment! :D Oh and the tops of the mountains have up to 7 metres of snow in places! Just need the wind to calm...

Had two great mondays this week and last out on the skis. Last Monday was great with blue skies and very light wind. Snow conditions were somewhat icy, but still perfectly skiiable. Skied along the northern corries then down Lurchers Gully. Today I had a quick ski up and down...

http://www.backpackinglight.co.uk http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk :) Although most of the best gear is still US based. On another note though, I have now moved up to the Cairngorms and live in the middle of the forest with the mountains 10 minutes away. Not to make anyone...

    Cycling from London to Shangahi

Have you seen Tom Allan's film Janapar? http://tomsbiketrip.com/films/ That will get you fired up! I would love you join you for this journey btw, but I think I need to settle down a bit for a few years. I have always wanted to explore central asia. I saw a lecture by German explorer...

    Cycling from London to Shangahi

Just stumbled across this thread as the title sounded ace. Then I saw you mentioned my adventure. :D What you are about to do sounds epic! It certainly won't be easy, but just keep pushing through and it is the tough times that you will look back on with fondness. Good luck to you, be...

How do they achieve the big movie effects?

3D effect will be done in Maya, Max Houdini or custom software, often with specialised or custom tools. My cousin has worked on a number of big films doing CGI. On U-571 he was in charge of writing the code to create the under water effects. It will then be edited in Avid, Premier Pro or...
