I don't know the credibility of this statement, but it could mean that pre-release firmware may have fixed an issue for some partners. Then again, could be totally unrelated.
Always used screen protectors. There are the TPU protectors that work well with curved screens but they tend to lift at the edges over time and collect dust.

The Aego's built-in amplifier and the low impedance of the headphones should allow you to run both through a splitter. Alternatively, you can buy a stereo switch although you'll probably need some RCA-jack adapters.
