    Being seen and being safe.

Reflective tape on tripod legs works well. It comes in black so doesn't stand out in daytime. A reflective warning triangle placed around the bend should alert drivers to a hazard ahead. Personally I wouldn't put myself in that situation.

    Processing raw - noobie

Record edit of first image as an action. Apply it to whole batch in Image processor. If you don't want to edit from scratch again - Select whole batch in folder. Rename sequentially. Make copies of .xmp file and rename to match. Use Image Processor to batch convert to .jpg.

Blood moon in London this Friday

It isn't coincidental the storm arrived with lunar eclipse :) If any of you have watched an eclipse near tidal waters you'd understand. The calm before the storm :) Still water on a hot day creates hot and humid air = storm fuel.

Why will digital cameras only shoot short video clips?

Heat is another issue. Try Magic Lantern to record RAW footage as long as there is space on card. Option to bypass live view auto switch off in menu somewhere.

Where to get large print made (600x400mm ish)?

Haven't in a while but used to use Loxley Colour. Always pleased with the results. Particularly liked their satin finish.

    Photography book

The Langford's series of photography manuals are excellent. Light, Science & Magic is another. Susan Sontag's aging 'On Photography' is still relevant and worth owning. I agree with Raymond to a degree but knowing how to achieve an image through experience is enhanced by knowing why the...

    Central heating is posessed

If anyone has knowledge of central heating systems on here could you offer possible diagnosis? About an hour after boiler turns off at night there is noise from the pipework. Starts as a low pitch rumble building to a high pitched screech over a few seconds then stops. Only does it once...

Removed it from Device Manager, plugged it in and can now play musical USB ports with much joy and gladness ;-)

    Fussy card reader

Thanks. I had unplugged everything the previous day whilst tidying up so sounds like the same problem.

    Fussy card reader

Lexar Pro CF card reader has suddenly become fussy which USB port it's plugged in to. Only works from always-on powered port on laptop. It won't work from any other port including powered USB hub. It worked fine from these ports a few days ago. Any ideas as to why?

Talk sense to me - lenses

Sigma have just announced the 24-70 Art. I'd wait for reviews before deciding on a 24-70. Their current 70-200 f/2.8 OS isn't a match for the Canon MkII. It's a good lens, I have both, but it doesn't render colours anywhere near as well, a bit warm and muddy lacking contrast. It can struggle...

Not used Sigma 150-600 in a while so went looking for Robins in the woods. Any of you care to share any tips/images?

    Photography Nerves in Public

It's a great atmosphere at these runs. You'll be warmly welcomed and encouraged to photograph with the more extrovert runners doing spontaneous mo bots etc. Lots of opportunity for candids. Parents running with their kids. Dogs dragging owners around. Faster runners stick around to encourage...
