I know with the PD diesel engines you would do a VCDS group 11 boost log for a wide open throttle pull in a particular gear. If you see boost pressure significantly over what the engine should be running from the factory, that usually indicates it's had a map. Don't know if that just applies to...

Peugeot/Citroen engine (Tu1jp Hfx) oil leak

If it's coming from the drivers side of the engine behind the alternator, it's likely to be leaking from the head gasket - quite common with the Peugeot/ Citroen TU engines. How bad is the leak? The engines are so cheap and readily available, I imagine it would be easier to just drop a new one...

Sold a car - need some advice

Yes I had fun reading that thre... saga. :p Car was £2k. 100% positive feedback, score 133, member since 2009. I've offered the option of bank transfer and collection but stressed the car is going nowhere till I have the funds. Also said cash on collection is my preferred way of doing things...

Sold a car - need some advice

Hi all, I wasn't sure whether to put this in Motors or GD, so please feel free to move if I've messed up. I listed a car on a well known auction site recently. I was meant to do it as a classified ad but listed it as a buy it now auction instead - my mistake. :o The only accepted method of...

    BMW and M Power Owners

My old man is potentially looking to order a brand new 125i M Sport. We'll be test driving one along with the Prince engined 120i at the weekend. I need to have a chat with him to see what equipment is offered as standard and what options he's planning on taking - all he's mentioned so far is...

    Show us your JDM Motors?!

Cheers. :) Yup - a friend got rid of these for some wider CR Kai (and man sized rubber). They look a lot better than I hoped!

From my Instagram - sorry! :o

Don't think anywhere will be stocking it once they've ran out - no longer road legal due to non-conforming colour!? You can get ATE TYP 200 which is essentially Super Blue without the blue dye. :)

    What's causing this engine whine?

Cold start I'm assuming? All 172/182 engines I've heard sound exactly like this from cold - assumed it was normal.

Myself and a good friend use these on our DC5s - both disappointed with the wet grip. :( I think I'll go for AD08/ AD08Rs next time around.

Another DC5 in Newcastle?! They'll be as common as EP3s round here soon. :p Jurgen was the one I was dealing with. My advice would be to go over it with a fine tooth comb before you settle the balance and drive it away. Don't be fobbed off like I was if they've cut corners like not having the...

    Type R and VTEC owners

Yup, very disappointing when they seem to have such a good reputation. A friend of mine got an S15 through them a few years ago and had no issues at all. I had a lot going on in my life when the issues became apparent and I'm kicking myself now for not pushing it further/ involving trading...

Off the top of my head: - Finger tight rear wheel nuts - only noticed when they started to go missing. - Importer fitted new track rod ends without correcting the toe - merely moved the steering wheel a few splines to "compensate". - Dead rear shock. - Big chunk missing from the top of the...

It seems my "mint" fresh import DC5 wasn't as mint as I was led to believe - spent a packet on it so far. :( Can finally start enjoying it and getting on top of the paintwork now though. I'll just leave these here.

Cheers guys. :) The car was supplied by JM Imports. You're looking at £8k for a pre-facelift, facelifts tend to come in around the £12-14k mark IIRC. There are some tidy examples already for sale in the UK, but it seemed no more expensive to get a fresh import really. I wanted one that...

After many months of waiting, I picked up my freshly imported DC5 yesterday. It's been well worth the wait - condition of the underside is astounding. Loving it so far. A few Tim will appreciate. :)

All taken care of by the importer, including MOT, IVA, minor service, 6 months tax, etc. A shade under £8k in total. Big money considering the current EP3 market, but the car was exactly what I wanted. :) In fairness, the cars that have been over here for a few years seem to be going for...

Finally given in and decided to scratch the Honda itch I've had for a while. Have a pre facelift NHB DC5 arriving from Japland in just under a month. Exciting times. :)

    Spec me a first DSLR

Hi all, I'm looking to buy my first DSLR - mainly for stills of cars and possibly dabble with some motorsport photography at a later date (I understand I'll probably need a zoom lens). I used to have access to an EOS 600D which I quite liked. It seems these can be picked up for around £325...
