That was a pretty poor final episode for the season… the villain was insanely hammy, going through the portals quickly became silly, and I didn’t buy all the grief that Invincible went through towards the end - what choice did he have, really?! I like the show despite it being too slow at times...

Yes - the commercial reasons are obvious. The thread is asking why we, the audience (specifically OcUK members) care.

I know what you mean but success here just means ‘people have bought tickets’… it has no real bearing on quality. The Minions films and the Secret Life of Pets, for example, both did very well at the box office yet are really quite average at best (if you’re being generous). … then again, Rise...

The Kemode review is definitely right that there is a LOT of stuff that doesn’t lead to anything major in a conventional ‘plot development’ sense (and as that takes up space it causes the film to under-deliver on its core plot) but I think he’s overly harsh, as the film never presents those...

I saw this in an IMAX in New York yesterday that’s bigger than the BFI. Phwoar, the sound and bass! Truly an awesome cinema experience. As for the film, I loved it. The attention to detail with everything is amazing - really feels like a place that could exist. The cinematography was beautiful...

I’m not sure if I’m repeating a conversation we had before (or if it was someone else) but I honestly thought the Marvels looked amazing in the cinema - it really popped. As in, wow, we have come so far. I even turned to my wife during the film to say so.

The ‘racism’ thing absolutely WAS a thing / criticism when RE5 came out, but it was dismissed by regulators that looked into it. I think a remake of the original in the style of RE7/8… or the other recent remakes, is inevitable.
