    OCZ platinum vs G.Skill

I've just put some G.Skill HS UCCC RAM into my Ultra-D (spec in sig). I couldn't get it stable (admittedly after minimal time spent on it) with the RAM in the orange slots so I shifted it into the yellow. I've not clocked it over 200Mhz yet. Any particular reason for you using the orange...

    RMA Corsair a nightmare!!

Even if they state this in their T&C's, this would constitute an 'unfair condition' and would therefore not be valid. Retailers need to appreciate that the buck stops with them, and by law they MUST provide this backup. The only time you should need to contact a manufacturer direct is if...

    OCZ platinum vs G.Skill

Minstadave, what voltage are you putting through your RAM? And which slots do you use on the Ultra-D?

    RMA Corsair a nightmare!!

What Pastymuncher said is correct - anyone who buys a product from OcUK has a contract with them. OcUK are obliged to provide service for these products for up to 6 years by consumer law. They are also obliged to deal with a repair, replacement or refund without causing significant...

    GeIL DDR2 667Mz memory - only at 5-5-5-15 timings?

^^ Yep, what they said about safe values :) Most RAM manufacturers do this to ensure the greatest compatibility out of the box without any messing about in the BIOS.

    is this water kit allrite?

^^ Seems like a sensible solution to me - waste of time and money to do a half-job :)

AM2 AIR Coolers .... your recommendations.

    4800+ x2 overclock

Afaik the stepping is largely related to what batch of CPUs it comes from and when it wsa produced. I think this link is ok to go on here - if not pls edit the post :) http://www.cpu-world.com/info/AMD/K8_stepping_codes.html

About to buy this and have a few questions

The 3700+ is a San Diego core which runs at 2.2Ghz with 1mb L2 cache. the 3800+ is a Venice core which runs at 2.4Ghz but with a 512kb L2 cache. Imo, the 3700+ is best ;) I just bought one myself a few weeks ago and it has clocked from 2.2Ghz up to 3.05Ghz on a Thermalright XP120 cooler :)...

    Refusing a delivery.... Outcomes ?

If, when you bought the PC online, you were given a date that you should receive this PC and it did not arrive by this date, then the company in question is in breach of contract. You can tell them this, and you are within your rights to cancel the order at no expense to yourself. If I've...

    £550 Budget Gaming Spec

The 805's reputably overclock well, but that seems irrelevant to this discussion. The extra £50 or so to get an Allendale really would be worth the money. On the face of it, an AM2 or even an s939 system would be better NOW, but I like your upgradability thinking. PCI-e, DDR2, and Core2duo...

Do I have a bottle neck somewhere?

Seems like a well rounded system. Are you experiencing any problems that have prompted you to ask this question? If so, what are the issues you have? If it's low FPS in games then I can only imagine that the 7600GS isn't up to your expectations. Nothing else really stands out in that spec...

New High Spec PC - Ideas???

I'd go for the Gigabyte DS4 mobo, Conroe E6600, 2x1Gb Geil PC6400 Low Latency RAM, Tagan 580w modular PSU, Antec P180, WD Raptor HDD(s). The x1900xt will be a damn good card, but if you have the money then by all means go for the x1950xt ;) I'd stay away from the Seasonic/P180 combo as the...

Spec Me a realllllly budget PC!!

you're gonna struggle with that budget..... You need to take off at least £80 for a monitor, and a further £20 or so for keyboard and mouse. PC for £150? I'll let someone else spec that for you, sorry

    AMD64 3200+ Venice

2.6 is a pretty healthy clock. I had my Venice 3000+ @ 2.66Ghz on air, prime stable, with quite a bit of voltage running through it. I think that was an E6 revision as well. I think you have more headroom there in terms of voltage, and therefore frequency. But you've got quite far already...

Which Heatsink will you always remember?

I had a the copper version of that bad boy..... jeez it was awful lol! I had to remember to manually turn the fan speed up before I played any games as my overclockers Northwood CPU would just crash if it got too hot. And damn, it really did sound like a jet engine...... lol :D

OVERCLOCKING MY DUEL CORE CONROE TO 3.O GHZ

People are very friendly and helpful on here, but treat them with some respect and at least make an effort to help yourself :) That would have taken about 5 mouse clicks to obtain that information - in fact I think it would have been less effort than posting here :p

    Problem with the mouse pointer

I used to have an MX1000 and had a few problems with it when it was plugged into USB. I know this seems stupid, but use the adaptor and plug it into PS/2. I am pretty confident that your problems will disappear ;) This is unfortunately one of the only solutions for MX1000 pointer problems...

    Pro Gamers mouse

I love not having a wire, but hate the weight of the battery in a wireless. The lesser of two evils for me was the wired G5, lovely mouse :)

    805D + X800 machine

I think the Geil RAM will be fine, but you'd be better off with the PC6400 Low Latency stuff, if you can stretch to it. I think you def have the right idea to get a DS3 mobo and some other nice components. It's all ready to have an Allendale dropped in there. In fact tbh if it were me, I'd...
