Sound skipping problem using Dolby Digital Live

Hi, you're right... the HDA is great! It was delivered to me earlier this week and has solved my out-of-sync/skipping problem! I had tried updating the drivers for the on-board Realtek previously with no luck, but for the HDA, i'm just using the drivers that came on CD so far. I should...

Sound skipping problem using Dolby Digital Live

Many thanks for your reply. I was using a fibre-optic cable between my PC and the A/V receiver. Have also tried out a digital-coaxial cable but the problem is still there. I've ordered an 'HDA Digital X-Plosion' sound card now so will steer away from on-board sound.

Please Help - ASUS P5WD2 mobo

Thanks for the replies guys. I got around the problem by cheating a bit! Instead of using the S-ATA as the main boot drive, I managed to install Windows XP Professional on my older IDE drive. Instead of plugging the IDE drive into the red 'PRI_EIDE' port, I used the sideways blue 'PRI_IDE'...

Please Help - ASUS P5WD2 mobo

SATA drive is a 'Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache', plugged into the SATA1 port on the motherboard. When I get home this evening, I will use a Windows '98 startup disk to run fdisk and then format the older IDE drive. When this is done, I will try to install Windows...
