    Kid bypassing Laptop Windows Password

Now come on, don't pretend like you've never asked someone something that you couldn't have simply googled. We've all got a bit of Bob in us. In fairness, OP's unwillingness to ask the kid isn't the part of the story that doesn't add up. That's like suggesting asking the career criminal for...

    Kid bypassing Laptop Windows Password

This thread was a fun ride. May I try to skin the cat another way? Bear in mind, this is not my opinion, I'm simply making an observation: If someone (let's call him Bob) wants to "hack" into a password protected computer but doesn't know how to do it, what does he do? "I'll ask online" he...

    PSVR 2, anyone interested?

Is it possible that the PSVR2 will ever work on PC with the help of some third party software like the first PSVR? The PSVR2 looks great but the PSVR game catalogue is a little underwhelming.

    Tabletop Warhammer?

Hey all... My 12 year old nephew has recently bought his first kit, a small Warhammer 40,000 set that he's very excited to start painting and playing with. It was not my suggestion but, funnily enough, the first kit I ever bought was a Warhammer 40,000 set when I was about the same age. He's...

    Organising photos by colour

You're a legend, thanks mate. If I can't get any of those softwares to work for me, looks like I might try making my own!

    Microsoft acquire Activision

Without condemning or condoning the deal, my only issue with the opposition to it is the fact that if you ask people why they prefer PlayStation, almost 100% of them will say "because PlayStation has more/better exclusives". If I were on the Microsoft legal team, that would be my argument. So...

What retro things have you done today?

Today I wrote a long email without using ChatGPT. Is that retro yet?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (fallen order sequel)

I've heard some builds seem to handle it fine, it's a strange issue. It'll probably be sorted out eventually for most other people too, it's just a shame for games to keep being released with issues. TLOU is another example on PC.

    Freelancer

Wow, I didn't expect to open this forum and see a thread for Freelancer on the first page. What a throwback. I loved this game and I'm still waiting for something that hits the same spot. So many space games manage to make freelancing so boring.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (fallen order sequel)

This game truly identifies the need for wholesale adaption of direct storage in pc gaming. It sounds like a mess but I really enjoyed Fallen Order so I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

ohh yeah that's a great shout. If you find anything, let me know, and I'll explore than avenue in the meantime too.

    Organising photos by colour

So, strange request, but I'm wondering if there's some photo album software that can arrange photos by colour according to the most prominent colours in the image (rather than by the average). I create a lot of grids, organising photos of similar hue into rows, but I have thousands of photos...

    Convert To 4K Photographs

I second this. The topaz apps including Gigapixel use AI to produce some pretty impressive upscaling. I've tried a few other upscaling tools and, to be honest, they do no better than simply scaling your photo in GIMP or Photoshop. You need an AI upscaling tool if you want to actually keep the...

    Build advice (upgrade from a 2070 super & i7 6700k)

Absolutely, I appreciate the food for thought, thank you. I won't be putting the build together just yet and I may be building a pc for my nephew too, so I have some room to play. I won't be building a whole new pc in the next 5 years but I'm definitely up for upgrading the GPU within that...

Case for a new build (Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 CPU Cooler, 4070Ti)

Well now I have 3 more cases on my shortlist and choosing is going to be even harder thanks for the suggestions!

    Build advice (upgrade from a 2070 super & i7 6700k)

It’s not that I can’t go AMD, I’ve been very tempted to go that way, because for rasterisation-gaming they’re the best bang for the buck by far, but once you factor in my other requirements and the quality of DLSS2 (and now the potential of DLSS3), the Nvidia option becomes much more...

    Build advice (upgrade from a 2070 super & i7 6700k)

That may be true for rasterization based gaming, but I need the card to also cover RTX, video encoding & editing, VR, and AI processing. From what I have seen, AMD falls behind in all of these areas, doesn't it? As for the 4090, it's double the cost of the 4070ti. I've fallen into the trap of...

Case for a new build (Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 CPU Cooler, 4070Ti)

Hi all, I just ordered a new build and it's on the way. I was going to reuse my old case (IN-WIN 503 MIDI Tower Case) but now I'm having second thoughts. A new case is half of the excitement isn't it? A midi tower that's quiet, with good air flow is of course ideal, with some USBs and an...

    Build advice (upgrade from a 2070 super & i7 6700k)

I can't believe that was almost 20 years ago, I was at uni a the time and it only feels like yesterday... Anyways, OC had one of the zotac's in stock and I switched out the PSU, so it's all ordered and already on the way. Thanks again mate. I guess I should call this one TetraRaptor :D

    Build advice (upgrade from a 2070 super & i7 6700k)

Tetras, mate, I’m having a flashback to 2006 when you replied to my first build thread featuring an E6600 Conroe, and here you are again. I even named my computer “Tetroe” in your honour. What a legend :D CUDA: yep USB: I don’t currently have use for a usb-c slot, but I guess it might be useful...
