    Bib Short recommendations: ~£80 budget

I can vouch for the Endura FS-260 range (one below the SL) - can be found for £75. Comfy, good pad seem to wear well. Not tried Rapha to compare to though.

Cycle to work and choosing a bike

I got a bike through wiggle on on cycle2work through cyclescheme, it was discounted to £1440 from a list price around £1900. My employer can issue vouchers up to £2000 so it was all covered by voucher. Wiggle were absolutely fine selling me a bike in at the discounted price. Prehaps a bit...

    Fast family hatchback

Buy a GTI. I went from driving either the family Mazda 6 or the fiesta 1.6 runabout to a Golf 7.5GTI (my misses is left with the Mazda), and I’ve not regretted it for a second. Nice place to be, and when you need it to be quick it is, the rest of the time it’s dead easy to drive , comfortable...

What 49" 4K HDR TV - Now stuck!

Yeah - doesn't appear UHD from Iplayer is available either on the built in app - lots of discussion on the AVForum thread. Looks like Sony (or maybe Google) need to pull their finger out! I also got the same model last week, loving it so far, just need to get Fibre now to make 4k streaming on...

    Group 2 car seats

Safer too isn’t it? Advice is rear face for as long as possible. I’m guessing also safer to be in a seat, especially with harness that big seat with a belt designed for adults.

Cracked glass - no drop, options?

Single hairline cracks with no sign of a drop are usually fixed for free if under warranty. This was the case with my 6S anyway - the guy in the apple store, looked at it, said if I look at it from the right light it qualifies and he sorted it. Worth checking if youre close to a store.

Variable speed limit not illuminated but flashed anyway

That's odd I did a speed awareness course (albeit nearly 2 years ago) and was told it absolutely was not a myth. Exactly as explained above, its guidelines the police choose to enforce. On my course they did say the guidelines were currently applied by all English Forces, Wales and Scotland were...

New Bike for London - Paris

Cheers, yeah I found some reviews of the 2016 version and they haven't changed the spec all that much. Completely agree, one of the reasons for looking at Carbon now is because my current bike is Alu and I'd like the upgrade! Quote requested from Wiggle!

New Bike for London - Paris

Yeah , that was along my line of thinking, just making sure I'm not spending money unnecessarily with the groupsets and weights being so closely matched. Definitely prefer the Eastway's looks so maybe that clinches it for me! Unfortunately can't find many reviews online of either...

New Bike for London - Paris

It's actually the Tiagra (4600) groupset, so one up from Sora. It's a nice bike, but the thinking was I'd continue to use it for winter/commuting and light trails and the new Bike would be purely for the road. To be honest its a bit of an excuse for a new bike - but you make a fair point about...

New Bike for London - Paris

I've managed to get myself roped into a charity ride next summer , doing the London to Paris ride (to see the TdF finish). I currently have a adventure road bike (Fuji Tread 1.3) but am looking to upgrade to something more suitable for endurance road riding. Obviously lots of winter training...

Garden drainage tap into rainwater pipe??

I'm not sure if this is accurate, but we had similar work done last year. New build, terrible drainage, we wanted a land drain under lawn and have it connected to rainwater waste on Garage (its lower than the garden and is connected to main sewer). However, the landscaper refused to connect a...

    Patio Quote

We just had two prices to relay an existing patio (about 12m x 3.5m). Reusing existing Indian pavers, taking it up, sorting out drainage issues underneath and relaying on a full bed with resin mortar. One price of about £3200 one of £2300! The later feels reasonable , and the guy gave me...

** The Apple Watch Series 2 Thread **

Not sure if its too late, but I've got that stand for my series 2. Does the job, the charging cable fits in well, look good, but I think you need to stick it down (there is an adhesive base) - but you may never get it off your bedside table etc without damaging it. If you don't it'll slide...

    New Car Needed. Advice Welcome!

Out of interest why is everyone recommending a Leon over a Golf? Theyre the same underneath aren't they? Is a Golf just overpaying for the brand?

    Music in the kitchen

We have a Dot with a Creative Bluetooth speaker D200 I think) attached. Dot is connected to Spotify and it works really well. At the moment our 3 year can ask Echo to play stuff but luckily she doesn't recognise him yet - it's only a matter of time though. You've also got Radio on Dot which...
