2 phone calls and 5 emails later (along with a forwarded email receipt from OCUK) and i now have an RMA number from Akasa, now to see how long it takes...

Can't seem to get in touch with Akasa about RMAing, rang them and they said to email them at [email protected]. Email bounced coz the email address doesn't exist so i rang again and they said to email [email protected] which i sent an email to on Monday and still haven't had any reply to :(

I got my Dell 2007WFP yesterday and love it, it's fantastic. So far only tried Warcraft on it (for some reason counter strike source kept giving me a "server using different tables" error last night grrr). Colours are far better than my tired old LG TFT that's been relegated to second monitor...

Moving out is definately the way to go :) I graduated a couple of years ago and have a job not far from you Carbine (Malvern) and its slowly paying off the student loan but to be honest the tiny amount that comes off your pay check isnt all that noticable ;)

Unless you're interested in anything that runs at 720p like an Xbox 360 or high def movies ;)

Yeah I was incredibly impressed (especially after a huge amount of hassle I had with an LG warranty) certainly makes Viewsonic's more tempting...

To be fair my mate got a VX912 a few months back and it had a dead subpixel on the very edge of the screen (he had to point it out for me to see it!) he just gave them a ring and they had a new monitor for him the next day!

Think it depends on the class of panel doesnt it? For example a higher class allows for less dead pixels etc

Let us know how this goes i'm curious to know what you can get away with with regards to getting replacements for monitors with dead pixels...

Yeah same here! Its a tough one...

This is exactly the reason the Viewsonic keeps tempting me though, their zero dead pixel policy would just take a lot of worry out of it all!

I probably won't be buying for at least a month but if i find anything out i'll let you know ;)

Have you had any luck with this FatFish? I'm sorely tempted by getting one of these monitors next month but I am quite picky about dead pixels... What do you think of the monitor other than the dead pixel?

Yeah definately needs cooling, me and G33K are moving on to moddin an NV-68 each to fit 7800GTs. Should allow me to get good clocks off the memory without crashing then!
