    SSD drive installation

Thanks folks! One new SSD now secured to the bottom of my case with blu-tack. Plumbed in and working. Now I need to uninstall and reinstall a bunch of games…

    SSD drive installation

Hi all, Stupid question. I was about to order a new 2TB SSD to put in my PC, but I’ve just discovered that my case only has two 3.5 inch bays, and they are both in use. However, there is still a decent amount of unused space. Obviously an optical drive with moving parts needs to be mounted in a...

    Upgrade advice?

I suspected it might be time to rebuild. Now isn't a great time in terms of capital outlay, though. I think first I may upgrade the RAM and think about the GPU (they are still stupidly expensive, but are they likely to drop?) I could then re-use the GPU later. (I'm not so worried about the RAM...

    Upgrade advice?

Hi folks, So I built my PC back in 2018 (I think) using suggestions from here to pick my components. I picked decent kit for the time in the hope it would make the build future-proof, and it has largely worked. However, I've now for the first time noticed the machine chugging a wee bit when...

The last game you completed, and rating.

I finished this early this year. Took me a month to get through it. It was fantastic at times, but as you say it goes on for ever. The low point was definitely when you do the chapter that takes place off the main map, and it won’t actually let you save anywhere. When you get back, you have a...

    Overwatch

I stopped playing Comp ages and ages ago. I started out in Silver and then got relegated to Bronze between seasons. Whatever it takes to climb the ranks, I don’t have it. For the last year or two I’ve played Mystery Heroes almost exclusively. Yeah, it’s a lottery, but it’s fun and doesn’t have...

    Kraken X62 noisy

It found a workaround similar to what was mentioned above - I created a custom profile which ran the fan at a slightly higher base speed for low temperatures. It seems that it’s low fan speeds which cause the noise. The custom profile seems to have stopped the noise happening, but the PC is less...

    Kraken X62 noisy

Hi all, I keep having an issue with my Kraken X62. Basically it makes a really intrusive clicking noise. After much Googling, it seems that the issue should go away if the CPU fan is set to 100% in the BIOS. I did this, but the noise still happens. I think it's partly related to the CAM...

Kraken X61 cooler suddenly very noisy!

Nothing exceptional. I may actually now have fixed the problem by accident. Was fiddling around with a few fan/pump settings in the CAM software and now I seem to be able to run Overwatch in near silence again. I think upgrading the software must have changed something and I have now changed it...

Kraken X61 cooler suddenly very noisy!

Hi guys, This is driving me nuts. I have a Kraken X61 and normally I love it - my PC is virtually silent, but for the last few days whenever I play a game or stress the CPU in any way, the fan speeds go to 2000 rpm and the PC sounds as if it's going to take off. I didn't change anything -...

    Can't make headset microphone work

Couldn't quite make myself guddle around in the case today... will open it up and have a look at some point. I may never have connected them on the grounds I was fitting a sound card when I built it years ago. The Roccat dongle is about twice what I have paid for the other two. Given that...

    Can't make headset microphone work

Update: it seems that the microphone is working via the dongle - sort of. It intermittently picks up sound if I move it around and place it almost inside my mouth! If I connect it to the audio jacks on my other PC, it picks up normally. So it's not the headset and it's not that the dongle...

    Can't make headset microphone work

Hi guys, Hoping someone can advise me here. Google is failing! I bought my son a HyperX Stinger headset for Christmas. I have a Cloud II myself, which connects via USB, but the Stinger has separate headphone and microphone plugs. If the headset is connected to the motherboard jacks, it works...

Advice On A New Gaming Headset

Looking for a bit of advice here too. I have recently bought a Razer mouse and keyboard, so wondering about the ManOWar option. However, these also seem to get a good write up: HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Red ** No Competitors ** Anyone have any experience to share?

    Wireless mouse?

I may just have fallen in love with the Razer Mamba. But at £150, not exactly an impulse buy.

    Wireless mouse?

Just built a new PC. Was intending to buy a nice new mouse too, but all the good wireless ones seemed to be hugely expensive. In the end I have carried on using my old Microsoft wireless one (very reliable though isn't even Bluetooth, has an IR sensor) and bought a new Microsoft one for the...

    Where to connect cable?

No advice on this? The plug is the same size as a standard cpu or case fan plug?

Do you get small optical drives?

Had thought about that. Are the data transfer times comparable?

Do you get small optical drives?

Hi, I am building a new PC with a Phanteks Enthoo Pro case and an NZXT Kraken X61 cooler. I have installed the radiator unit, but have just discovered that there isn't quite enough space in the top of the case and I cannot get my Blu-Ray drive all the way in before it hits the radiator. There...

    Where to connect cable?

I'm installing a NZXT Kraken X61. The instructions say to 'connect the 3-pin power cable from the pump to the 4-pin CPU-PWR connection on the MB'. I can't locate a CPU-PWR connector. I have CPU-Fan, CPU- Opt, and AIO-pump, all of which would fit the plug. Does it matter which I use?
