Erm, yeah reading it was how I saw that the 8800gtx scored 3600 more marks than the XTX.

Unless I'm missing something the 1950xtx is 3600 behind the 8800gtx in 3D06. Those SLI figures are junk as well. 11k in 3D06 with SLIed GTX's? Looks like a typical Inquirer review tbh and they're not even using the N690 board are they?

I generally don't agree with this train of thought. You could say the same thing at most times during the year and end up getting nothing. I'm an early adopter and won't be worried what Nvidia or ATI do in 6 months as I'll be using a 8800gtx for those 6 months. I'm gaming at 1920x1200 though so...

If you can wait a few weeks you'll probably save yourself a few quid but I'm guessing like a lot of us you probably can't. :)

A recent Firing Squad 1950xtx crossfire article was giving it 80fps (I'm assuming thats average) at 1920x1200 with 4xaa/16af in FEAR. The 8800gtx SLI there is giving 126 average and I'm guessing the min and max will be a bit higher as well. The 8xQ quality is giving about the same as the...

FEAR was one of the few (only) games where it worked correctly so the 8800 scores in FEAR do seem impressive.

I'm really interested to see how pricing works out today. Looking around there seems to be some UK etailers with the GTX up at about £400inc, one has it at £370inc. Of course whether they get stock or not is another thing but I wonder if this is actually what the cards should be priced at...

Its certainly impressive with a single card on par with a 1950XTXCF setup. I'd say in the GTX at least Nvidia seem to have got it right although I'll wait for the proper game benchies before getting too excited.

DX10 will be a completely different proposition to SM 3.0 imo so take the anti-DX10 brigade with a pinch of salt. You're going to get a lot of people telling you one thing or another in this thread as the 8800 has been a hot topic for debate but tbh the logic to me says the single chip GTS...
