That is an old screenshot, what version of Vanilla are you using? And you could try using the Harmony theme, it replicates the look of the old version of Vanilla.

The built in metadata retrieval in MB relies heavily on folder name. Your best bet is to use this, it was designed for use with MediaBrowser and allows the same level of control over the metadata as the MyMovies collection management app. http://themetabrowser.com/

I use a media centre addon called BookMarkIt. You have to set the bookmark yourself before you stop the video but it's better than fast forwarding every time. It can store one bookmark location for each video file. Can get the Vista version from here...

I can get mine to do the same if I unlock the taskbar and drag the quick launch toolbar across the entire taskbar. Assuming that is why yours is doing it, I'd say unlock the taskbar (if locked of course) and resize the quick launch.

Tools > Folder Options In the Tasks part of the General tab choose "Show common tasks in folders" Should get it back.
