im on 2.7/2.8 now, its booting into windows now but failing the OCCT 30 min stability test, I have upped the voltages, changed the timings but still in the same situation so im probably going to put it back to 2.6ghz, where it previously passed the test and super pi. Also CPU-z is not displaying...

Ok looks like a sorted out the problem I was having by increasing the cpu volts. I Still need to finish the OCCT memory test then super pi for tonight. Do you thinkI may be able to get more than 2.6ghz with this memory or have I pretty much reached the memory's limit??

Ive dropped the 6 to a five like you said, put the freq upto 216.7mhz (htt 260), boots into windows but failed the OCCT test after 55 secs :/ Is it worth trying to use a lower divider??

Ok thanks for the feedback. With the actual overclocking I am just hoping to get to these high speeds of 2.8/3.0 not really expecting it too much. I am happy with the chip even running at stock speeds compared to my old cpu. Atm I am running at 250 on the memory so cpu clocked at 2.5ghz now :)...

I see it's all much clear to me now :) whats the chances of it getting to 300??

Ok thanks - will give it a try... OK its booted into windows on 2.3ghz so far, haven't got much time to do testing yet. The ddr is running at 333, is this going to be a problem, cause a decrease in performance? or is keeping it at ddr 400 better??

Hi can anybody here recommend me some decent memory timings for running an Opty 146 at 2.8ghz on a DFi SLI D as im getting a bit stuck (beeing a stupid noob :/) any help appreciated :)

Ive checked with mbm5 and its the same, as for the case - its just a case and im happy with it :p (altho the front is plasic and a bit tacy lol), with the fans I prefer a small, affective amount, while performing good but not wanting to make it sound like a small hoover ;)

Got a chenbro gaming bomb - taken all the plastic off the side, got a 60mm fan on the side, 120mm fan underneath and another 60mm fan at the back, blowing air out the back of the case. Ive overclocked it a whopping 100mhz so far lol. Still showing about 32C idle, was about 30C when windows...

I am using a DFI Ultra SLI D. Gfx card is on top slot tho so may move i lower in the future. Wasnt getting a display from the bottom slot before. I do have an extra 12cm fan I may connect to the case to give the artic some more air

Thats good to hear :) im getting 42C underload and 32/34 idle on air with my Artic pro 64 cooler at stock. Dont suppose if anyone knows if that sounds about right too??

Im just having a look in cpu-z and on motherboard and its saying my tock volts are 1.36v, then its got ldt voltage on mbm5 as 1.17v then chipset volt 1.49v. Would this be correct (all settings as stock) also what voltages should the 146 opteron take at stock??

Hi I have recently installed a DFI N4f ultra sli D mobo, Opty 146 Cacjye and Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3500LL Pro TwinX ram and im going to start overclocking it in the next day or so after Ive installed all my apps/games etc. I was wondering what the chance is of it running at 2.8 or prefrebly 3ghz...

Depends how many sticks of ram you have. With 1 stick of value ddr400 Most I got it to was about 2009mhz stable

Being new to socket 939's (from upgrading from a Athlon xp2200+) I wasn't sure whatthey were in the first place as they're quite larg jumpers. O well glad its sorted, just need to sort out my monitor now lol

Think the temps running bit on the high side on mine - 38C on a stock speed opty 146 - hasnt been on for long tho
