I think I will stick with my copy of windowblinds, and save myself 80 odd quid! MS really need a rival and some competion in th OS market, they are getting seriously lazy with there software innovations. Hardware manafacturers must rub there hands with glee everytime Mr gates announces a new...
I won't be jumping on the Vista bandwagon when its released! Ok it looks nice, but has everyone forgot the bug problems XP had when it was first released? I think I will wait until Vista service pack 2 gets released first. ;)
Meanwhile I'm quite happy with my dual boot set-up of Linux and XP...
Anyone know if there is anyway you can install msg 8 for more than one persons account? I installed it the other day, but my wife couldn't use or my daughter. It seems the only person allowed to log on is the person who got the invite. I had to uninstall and re-install 7.5, which is a real shame...
The DL speeds are up and down like a skippy on a trampoline at the moment, I think I will try again in the early hours when the network isn't as busy. At the moment it is getting hammered with everyone trying out there new speeds.
NW will be upgraded before the end of January, heres the link:

One more thing, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone! :)
It's the last day before the change freeze, so after today only emergency work will be carried out until after New Year.
Telewest have managed to rollout speed uplifts to only one area in nearly two months and updated the evenfaster page only once.
Nice going Telewest, YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!
Talked to a BY tech about a week ago and he said the North-west speed uplifts should happen before the 20th of December. There is a change freeze from the 20th to the new year, so if you haven't got your speed increase by then it isn't going to happen until the new year.
Reading the BY...
My area (Knowsley) should get there increase just before xmas, at least I know now when I will be getting my upgrade.
A nice free Chrimbo prezzie from BY, 10meg. Well better than the usual socks, jumpers and aftershave. :D
What about areas that have received there upgrades and are getting no where near there increased speeds or worse then before the upgrade, will telewest be offering them any form of compensation?
No it will be put-up with it and pay your bill, and we promise we will sort things out...
I really don't think anyone knows what is going on judging by Telewest customer support.
It's ok when your next bill comes in and it isn't payed on time and Telewest phone and ask when you will be paying just say "To Be announced" repeatedly down the phone" or "you will know when I do"...
Still no speed increase for Knowsley or Liverpool, thats ten days now since all our upgrades where finished and still nothing except TBA on the even faster page. :(
I know how you feel, work on our area (knowsley was completed on the 7th) and still not a mention on the evenfaster page for rollout completion except TBA!
Judging by other areas speed uplifts happened around two weeks after there uBR/network upgrades, so hopefully around the 21st for me.
