    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Indeed! The saving grace is the 35mm crop while still having quite a high MP count. I would prefer a 35mm on it but I guess 28mm gives you more flexibility.

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

It's definitely a heart over head decision. I look at it and it reminds me of what made me get into photographing. Throughout my Photojournalism degree I predominantly shot medium format colour film on a Mamiya C330s or a Mamiya 7. I loved every second of the approach to capturing images...

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Yeah, that is part of the reason! I was looking at Q2 prices and they are still very strong. I don't think any other camera (apart from an M11) will give me what I want in a camera. As an EDC it's perfect...I just need to qualify the man maths! As soon as Canon created the mirrorless R5 and the...

Yep, must be FF. Had an X-Pro1 way back when that was first released and loved it but needs to be FF for me really. The release of the X100 VI was what has got me seriously looking again. Crazy how these cameras has shot up in price since their first iterations!

I need to stop looking at the Leica Q3.... I really need to get back shooting. I have 2x 5D Mark IV with a plethora of other kit just sitting there doing nothing. I need to get that spark back! I love a rangefinder and without going full M11 the Q3 seems absolutely perfect for my uses. 28mm...

Still trying to man maths a 750! They seem a riot...saw a lovely one at Bridge in Exeter in a very fetching Hearing Aid Beige colour way!

    Biker's Cafe Chatroom

Absolutely itching to get out on one of the bikes. Weather still isn't good enough and not for the foreseeable. Oh well, will have to tinker in the mean time and scratch that itch elsewhere! Doh!

    Your bad driving encounters

Due to the ongoing roadworks on the a30, poor driving is a regular occurrence having to merge in turn twice on my commute. Quite comical how people navigate their lives with such poor driving prowess…

What is the best road tyre for Sports Bike?

I think that seems to be the main issue with them! The KTM has only covered about 3k and the rear is squared and ready for a change soon! I think it will get a S23. They’re only used for a hoon!

What have you done to your car today?

The wet weather performance, or lack of, is actually quite scary with the run flats. Hope to get shot of these sooner rather than later. They’ve only covered 7k so may be worth getting off and selling them.

What is the best road tyre for Sports Bike?

Would the Bridgestone S22/23 be too soft for you? They’re incredible tyres. Give so much feedback and confidence. I have S21 on the 690 SMC R which then made me get S22 on a CB650R which gave such a profound improvement on the ride and handling I’ve sung their praises ever since. Currently...

What have you done to your car today?

Rotated the wheels on the JCW last week. Never personally had a car with TPMS on so was apprehensive about how that works with a rotate. Just did a reset procedure and works as intended! Phew! Now to evenly wear down these horrible Pirelli run flats and then get some Pilot Sports on it!

    Who here owns a Mini?

The LCI2 didn't have the custom driver modes like the models before it. So I'm and stuck with what each mode has. The rack in the fiesta is much faster! That car is in storage. The 8 Speed is fantastic! Just don't put it into sport gears and floor it, the thud is quite disconcerting!

    Who here owns a Mini?

Annoying thing about sport mode is that it makes the steering so gratuitously heavy... I want the throttle response but not the overly heavy slow steering. One of the only issues I have with my JCW is the very slow rack.

    Biker's Cafe Chatroom

Managed to get out on the KTM a couple days ago for a quick pootle about. The sun can't come soon enough. Spent most of last year fully suited but got the same 2 piece jacket as my 1 piece and a pair of jeans that zip to the jacket for meets so gave this setup a go also! As much as I love the 1...

Toyota Yaris GR4 4x4 Rally going into production.....

No, was 2nd hand car. Looked to have been sat for a while as the brakes were corroded and didn't give any feel which you wouldn't expect. I just felt it was too focused for the roads in Cornwall. Felt very hard, square and felt short geared. I most likely didn't give it a fair shake. I...

Toyota Yaris GR4 4x4 Rally going into production.....

After taking a demo out of the Yaris GR a month of so ago I felt like it was a never meet your heroes situation. I just didn’t like it…thought it would be everything I wanted but just didn’t enjoy my time with it. Much preferred the GR86. I’m am intrigued again now there is a new facelift...

    Who here owns a Mini?

The new mark 8 Fiesta could but my older 7.5 didn’t from factory. I have however had a quiafe fitted and it’s totally changed the dynamics of a FWD car. Surprised a JCW doesn’t come with one, would definitely benefit from it but can’t say I really want go through the hassle and cost of that...

    Who here owns a Mini?

Ahaaa! That explains why it is called active cruise control! It’s definitely not as good as VAG versions but do find it quite good for what I’ve used it for thus far. I did notice that when you’re stopped in traffic the stop start would start up when a car started to pull away in front. I may...
