Tempted to get back into DC Projects

No, this is not a ghost of many Christmas's past that you see before you, just someone who is tempted to get back into some DC projects in a small way for now and there could only be one team that I could contemplate joining. :) I'm currently setting up a couple of servers, one for a NAS and...

    magman's 10M

Like it :D I don't think I've ever posted any of my tiffies on the forums before, this may be a good time to start. Now all we have to do is get Murdock to get the Helicopter back to the airport after airlifting this massive tiffy into the forums, give BA the antidote for the knock out drops...

    Well done magman.

Sorry guys, I've been away from the forums for quite a while (and haven't been paying much attention to folding either). Thanks of the comments. Good job I checked anyway, as virtually all of my crunchers had stopped working over the last day or so - they were all stuck in the usual 100%...

    8800 GTS in Clearance - £40 +VAT

It wasn't so much that the deal fell through that has annoyed me, but that they didn't tell me (and still charged my credit card for something they couldn't deliver).

    8800 GTS in Clearance - £40 +VAT

Well OcUK can now count me as an unhappy customer. I've just rang to see why my order hasn't been delivered and they told me that the graphics cards are out of stock and won't be coming back into stock. I'll save my rant for an email to OcUK (If I can find one a suitable email...

    Parp to Ligerzero

Looks like I've moved back in front again - so that would make it a Re-Stomp. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts this time, especially as my new graphics cards haven't landed yet.

    8800 GTS in Clearance - £40 +VAT

Yeah, I'd already seen that and had been a little bit tempted (GX2's have been cropping up in MM from about £180 downwards in recent weeks). The 4 8800 GTS's will give me more production for a not dissimilar cost anyway (estimating 3-3500 PPD per card, compared to 8-9500 PPD for a GX2). I know...

how do i add pictures to a thread?

Images have to be hosted somewhere on the internet first. Then from the 'Go Advanced' option, there is an icon you can click to add an image. This pops up a box so that you can enter the URL of where the image is hosted from. Good hunting

    8800 GTS in Clearance - £40 +VAT

They are the 640mb version. I missed out on some 9800GX2's a few weeks ago at a very good price, so I decided to bite the bullet this time. Looks like I wasn't the only one :)

    8800 GTS in Clearance - £40 +VAT

Well that didn't last long, they've all gone (there where 10+ last time I looked). Admittedly they aren't G92's, but at this price for a new card, its a good 'bang-for-buck' in my opinion.

    8800 GTS in Clearance - £40 +VAT

If you're quick, you might pick up a cheap cruncher over in the OcUK Clearance Corner. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BG-042-GW&groupid=595&catid=683&subcat= I've just bought 4 :D :D (Ligerzero may not be moving away as quickly as he thought)

    Parp to Ligerzero

Looks like Ligerzero wants the number one spot back again. He's just steamed past me to unstomp himself and his output has apparently quadrupled over the last few days  I'll have to decide whether I go after him or not. ;)

Can someone post the qfix fix please.

If running in Linux, make sure to stop the FAH Processes, or this can cause problems with qfix. Apart from this, I just run qfix in the client folder that the queue.dat file is held in (cd into the required CPUx folder as required for each frozen client if you are running multiple clients on a...

    Parp to Ligerzero

Yes, it looks like the deed is done for now. I'll keep a close watch on the backdoor for a while, on the long slow trawl after you Sculptor (unless I pull my finger out and get some GPU goodness to add to my farm that is).:D

    Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 25th January 2009

Yet another early post - someone else that doesn't sleep well on a Sunday night - but thanks for your sterling efforts anyway. Looks like the drop in GPU points is hitting everyone to pretty much the same level = as we stayed 41st in production. Lets see what happens in the coming weeks.

    Parp to Ligerzero

Not sure what is happening with Ligerzero's output, but it looks like I may catch him sometime later today (a couple of days ago it looked like he would race away from me). So here goes with an official PARP to Ligerzero and lets see what happens.:D

help setting up GTX295 for folding

If you have a hunt on the Folding Forums, there are links to adaptor plugs you can make to fool the graphics card that a monitor has been plugged in. You can even do a quick fix of plugging resistors into the monitor connector directly IIRC. Adaptors are also available to buy ready made.

    Liger you are officially Stomped

Congratulations Sculptor, excellent effort. I suspect it will be a while before I catch up with you, as my production is likely to stay about the same for the near future, and I'm also expecting work to be very hectic in the new year. so I won't be able to keep as close a watch on my farm as I...

    Liger's on the "8 Ball"

Amazing Achievement :D Given the recent major milestones reached by the team in Folding and BOINC, it just show how strong we are performing, both as a team and as individual members.
