nothing fancy required just want a 40-42 inch screen for watching digital tv/virgin media quite like the samsung tv,s and have around 900-1000 to spend,thanks in anticipation. ps lcd vs plasma for my situation???

ok popped into my local sony centre and they had these 2 systems available sony ht-ddw670 and sony ht-ss600 any thoughts? ps the room size this is meant for is approx 16x13 feet main use 2x dvd players.thanks :p
