    MSI P45 Platinum & e8500

As 4qman says above my problems with the board are down to something else as a Asus P5Q pro also has the same isues for me. New bios has cleared up a lot of issues and 4qman has been a great help and he does have v1.1 as well! If only I had some hair left :)

I have just bought this board and also have a MSI P45 Platinum and have 2 sets of ballistix ram a C5 PC8500 and a C3 PC5300. I have hit the exact same problem with both a wall at 475FSB it will BSOD when booting windows I am assuming it doesn't like crucial ram. It is with an E8400 cpu. Anybody...

whats the best board for Q9450?

Don't go with an MSI P45 board the overclocking is absolute pants. Can't even get over 450FSB with a E8400 that does 520FSB on a P35 board.

    MSI X48C Platinum Problems

I would advise you to check MSI official forums as there will be more users with that board. MSI though do seem to be releasing boards with very immature bios.

    MSI P45 Platinum & e8500

I totally disagree at present! 4qman is using v1.0 of this board which is a review sample. I have traced several reviews over the web and users on MSI forums and not 1 person as yet has had any success getting past 450FSB and I am using the same ram and E8400 they all are using the retail...

    MSI P45 Platinum & e8500

Any luck with that bios? I am sure I am having memory problems it doesn't like my overclocked ballistix 667 or corsair 800 I get constant blue screens above 900mhz. It seems you may need dedicated 1066 memory!

    MSI P45 Platinum & e8500

ftp://ftp.msi.com.tw/BIOS/7512/ The beta bios is in the link. Just gone back to my MSI P35 Neo2 and that does 520 FSB with an E8400 and 465FSB with a QX9650. Been priming for a bit with ram at 1050 and its fine with the P45 board blue screens above 900mhz. Tried the gtl settings but no joy.

    MSI P45 Platinum & e8500

Cheers I will have a go. I am curently using bios 1.1 beta3 which has improved things. I haven't been helped by the fact that my waterblock doesn't fit this board so i am using a sycthe ninja but am getting high temps!

    MSI P45 Platinum & e8500

There are some real memory issues with this board my set of ballistix PC5300 that run well over 1000mhz will not boot much above 800 on this board. I have a set of corsair pc6400 that will boot at 950 but keep getting blue screens.
