Surely its worth a try, considering you're going to courier your phone. It always solved any charging/connection problems I've had in the past with all of the phones I've had, it's unlikely a piece of paper folded to a nice point is going to damage the port.

Its a long term known issue that they seem to be struggling fixing, network play seems to either work or doesn't for people. There is a thread somewhere on bungie.net about it suggesting ways to fix it, I can't seem to find it, maybe theres something in the official thread on this forum
