Tried to change this order by phone to the same card, only the retail version (which is in stock). Unfortunately, the chap on the phone seemed to be less than furnished with all the commodities required to carry out the task.
:(
Ah well, web notes it is. Pfft.
I searched the forum for information on this subject but I didn't find anything. Forgive me if I've missed something that's been posted before.
I'm looking for a replacement northbridge fan (preferably a fan if there's one available) for a DFI LanParty Ultra-D because mine is starting to...
Brilliant feedback guys, thanks again. I was dreading having to reinstall everything but keen as mustard to see how much of an overclock I can get out of this new CPU. I wasn't even thinking about buying a new CPU until I saw the prices on the OverClockers website yesterday. Curses to my weak...
Dear all,
I'm about to upgrade my CPU from an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (939) Venice to an AMD Athlon 4000+ (939) San Diego. Will I have to re-install my OS? My motherboard will remain the same (DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D).
Sorry, I forgot to add that I have a Zalman VF700-CU Quiet Copper VGA Cooler fitted to my card. I guess it was worth the extra money. Doesn't half trap the dust though!
My memory's clocked at 1160. I basically let the driver software find its own optimum clock and that's what it came up with. Many thanks for the replies, guys. I had a hunch that I still had loads to go before worrying but I just wanted to check. Cheers.
Hi all,
Just wondering what a safe maximum temperature is for a BFG 7800GT GPU (overclocked to 480mhz)? Most of my games seem to peak it at around 55degC, but Oblivion's giving it a good roasting at ~62degC. Just wondering what the safe upward limit would be?
Thanks in advance.
Has anyone noticed this?
I've got Windows 2 accounts on this PC. One for me and one for my wife. Tonight she wanted to check her mail, so she logged me out and logged into her account. After I logged back in, I happened to notice that my graphics card clock speeds were back to stock. However...
Put CPU in socket.
Get a pair of latex or nitrile gloves on.
Drop of IPA or Acetone on a cotton bud and give the back of the chip a wipe to remove grease (from your fingers touching it). Do the same with the contact surface of your cooler. If you're stuck, you can use nail polish remover (just...
I installed the 84.21 drivers from nVidia's site which scored 7823 on 3DMark05. Tried out the 84.21v2 drivers from ExtremeG this morning and I'm now scoring 7854. I also used to have an annoying skip/stutter with World of Warcraft and now it's very much reduced. These drivers seem to be settling...
Thanks for the replies, guys. As it turns out, my mate's got a spare WRT54G that he's going to 'lend' me. Been doing a bit of reading on it and I must admit I'm quite looking forward to seeing it now.
Actually didn't sound right. "I don't need a wireless router but would this wireless router do?" :)
I was actually referring to the 'S' bit at the end of the model number. That's the bit I don't need. You answered my question just fine though. Thanks.
Oh cool. I use the Zalman VF700-CU but I've always been a bit nervous to go any higher than 465/1130. No idea why though because my temperatures are just fine and I've never seen a single artefact. I think I'll start pushng it a bit more to see what I can get. Thanks for the reply.
I think my S&M takes pity on my system. With all the sliders set to max, my CPU temp doesn't get above 43DegC. I'm willing to accept that mt temp sensor reads a bit low, but it doesn't half mock me when I start to think, "Hmm, maybe I could get another few mhz out of that chip....."
:p
