    Aluminium DVD-RW Optical Drives.

Excellent. Black, no trench, no etching/labeling for me please!

How many drives? I've only got one HDD (SSD is stuck round the 'back' on the adaptor), a 1TB Samsung F3, and that's sat in the bay closest to the front of the case at 31°C according to the SMART data which is a slight reduction, 5°C (if that), from what it was in my previous case. I'm...

Each drive bay has little tabs for a drive to sit on. Does the res have flat sides that might be a problem?

No experience of the res - what kind of info are you after? Photos, measurements, etc if you need 'em.

With regard to this PSU support thing, I installed mine slightly differently - the easiest way, I think, to explain how is a 90° anti-clockwise rotation from how garsands has shown how his is installed - such that the triangular bit is acting as a shelf. My photo on pg 5 just about shows what I...

What's the noise like without the honeycomb things? I had read that the honeycomb grill doohickeys reduced noise (on an RV02 though) - on SPCR, I think. I'm also thinking I should have got the windowed model but whoever decided to put the window on the outside was an absolute genius! ;)

I can only assume it's due to the foam on the FT02.

Me neither - but I stuck it out for about an hour or so of connecting, disconnecting, swearing and finally getting something that would do the job. I think the issue with my cables isn't so much the size (they're flat ones) but the connectors on them. I might, at some point, look into taking...

Just to add a little more info, also round the back are cables for the SSD, the cables to the SATA hotswap doohickey and two DVD drives - although only one is connected to the motherboard courtesy of there not being enough space between the drive and the slots to get a connector in there... so...

I went for the PCI-E cables (HD4870) round the back approach... it's tight, very tight, but I'm happy enough with it. The panel is only ever so slightly bowed and I'm not going to worry about it. Mind you couldn't they have made the darn thing even just 1/2" wider? At £200, the thing should be...

Just got one of these beasties myself... VERY impressed. Never had a Silverstone case before but build quality is superb. It is not silent but it is quiet. The noise isn't very invasive at all and is leaps and bounds above (in terms of airflow) the case I had before. Not much space for...

    Zalman GS1000 or Silverstone FT01

Ignoring the price difference, what would the best choice be if my intention is quiet - albeit with value added "coolness" (of components, that is, not how it looks)? I've used Google until I'm blue in the face and still can't make my mind up... any suggestions/comments greatly appreciated. I...

    X1950Pro graphics corruption

Ah, but herein lies a slight problem... the label on the box (where the s/n lives) has a -V2 at the end of one of the codes. I'm assuming that means it's a rev 2 board. Typical! As a precaution, I've stopped buying lottery tickets! :) And to top it all, the extra 92mm fan is actually doing...

    X1950Pro graphics corruption

Blinkin' 'eck! Time to speak to OcUK methinks! I don't see why I should have to use a further 92mm fan to get it to work when I bought this HIS IceQ3 (and the previous Sapphire Ultimate) for the quiet!

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 PSU question and other help

The 2x4 pin connector does come as standard with 4-pins covered. It perhaps doesn't help if I told you I was using an 8-pin (well, two four pin) connector and a 24-pin connector but the manual says, in paraphrased form: Use of a 2x4 12V connector is recommended when using an Extreme Edition...

    X1950Pro graphics corruption

Cheers snowdog. What's had me 'worried' is that I've gone through two Sapphie X1950Pro Ultimates and switched to HIS as I didn't want another duff card... guess it's just my luck!! :( Is it worth, to avoid hassle, getting a normal X1950Pro and not one of these Ultimate/Turbo...

Do people get 3GHz from their E6600s?

Going off on a slightly different tangent, anyone care to share how high their E6600s go with a Noctua NH-U12F?? At idle, with "auto" volts, both EasyTune5 and Intel TAT report my stock E6600 at about 30ºC-ish... which is about right I think... 100% load temps (2x Orthos and 100% on both...

    X1950Pro graphics corruption

Has anyone had any trouble with the HIS X1950Pro 256MB IceQ3 Turbo? Basically, after a random amount of time in 3D apps, the screen goes all alpha over tango with bright coloured pixels. I'm assuming it's an overheating issue but case ventilation isn't, IMO, much of an issue (1x 120mm intake...

    Sapphire X1950Pro Ultimate corrupt screen?

Cheers guys, much appreciated. Ta! :) Tute - I don't, no. The only other machine with a PCI-E slot, that I have access to, is a Dell I have a work and that's a non-starter. The very fact it's 100% happy in Windows but throws a leg out bed when I try altering mem clocks or play a game...

    Sapphire X1950Pro Ultimate corrupt screen?

After having a crisis with the aforesaid card not booting, which was duly solved by a nice beefy 600W PSU, I've now come up against another problem - after 5 or 10 minutes of gaming (C&C3), the screen is corrupted and it only gets worse as time goes on. To me, it looks like memory corruption...
