Yup you're not wrong!! In fact in that clip I was still left-foot braking. Caterhams are tricky to get the nose in on power, they like a bit of weight transfer, and later on in the day after some practice I was just lifting for the entry to Surtees and carrying lots more speed.
I had the same...
Ah I'd forgotten about that mad little car! Very impressive really. It's going to be interesting to see if motors like that make it into Caterhams in the future.
That's quite interesting, is it an EcoBoost engine? I know of a couple of EcoBoost installations happening at the moment but nothing from the factory yet. I agree that turbo charged engines in these kinds of cars aren't always ideal and certainly it's not my cup of tea. Can't beat a proper high...
Cheers! Genuinely thought I was going to at least side-swipe the barrier but managed to get away with it :D
Ah that's really cool, thank you! I had a lot of difficulty getting the CAN bus connection working properly with the Emerald which turned out to be something really simple in the end...
Thanks you, glad you enjoyed! I have to be Team Principal, Primary Sponsor, Data Analyst, Chief Mechanic, and Lead Driver - but I love it all ;)
Yes you don't need huge quantities of horsepower to enjoy yourself, far from it in my experience!
Hi guys, it's been a little while now since I've posted anything about my Caterham so I thought I'd put together a little update from the last few years...
First of all - I broke it. The little 1.6 litre Rover K Series motor had long been running the factory 'Supersport' upgrade which consists...
I do yes, but it's built-in to pfSense which makes life easier.
If I was to set up something separate I'd look at the appliance (https://openvpn.net/index.php/access-server/download-openvpn-as-vm.html) as that should be the easiest way to get up and running.
Not necessarily. Most of those hacks revolve around an open port on your firewall. I use PBX in a Flash with a SIP trunk from sipgate and it works perfectly without any open ports or other firewall changes. Ok so it took a while to set it up, but I can make and receive calls just fine.
Can I ask for your thoughts on this?
I use a combination of resource pools and apps to govern resources for specific roles (e.g. file servers, web servers, etc.) and to control start-up sequence. Is there a better way to do this? I was under the impression that resource pools were better than...
Right.
And this is where, as far as I can tell, the Sale of Goods Act is in the consumers favour because within the first 6 months it's down to the trader to prove the goods weren't damaged when they were sold.
How many retailers inspect, test and log every individual board they sell?
I did, yes.
There's a fundamental issue that's not sitting right with me at the moment. If the pins were bent when it first arrived with me and I completely missed it, then what am I supposed to do? The board is faulty, but it seems that if the cause is "bent pins" then it's automatically...
No I did not bend the pins. I am absolutely, 100% certain of it. I know pins on these boards are fragile so I check them carefully. The other board was fine, and the replacement board I ordered (before the RMA had started) actually had a couple of bent pins in the middle that I had to straighten...
Hi guys
I recently bought two motherboards from an online retailer (not OcUK). One of these was DoA (would not post), the other was fine. I've returned the faulty board but the retailer is claiming that the cause of the fault is two bent CPU socket pins, which they say I have caused, and are...
I try to use it for as much as possible really. It started out as a way to have high speed storage for video editing (hence the 10GbE links to my workstation), but it's grown from there. Here's a quick run down of the VMs currently running, in no particular order:
VCSA 5.5U2 (VMware vCenter...
No worries, a bit of info on the SAN then...
Largely owing to how the original PE2950 was configured, the SAN server is based on 6x Seagate 2TB 7200rpm SATA drives. They're basic consumer drives and they do fail, but so far I've only lost 2 in about 3 years - I can live with that. They're...
So after moving house and getting all of my lab kit from the loft into a rack in the spare room, I discovered (the somewhat expensive way) that servers generate lots of heat (!). The power consumption I've been used to, but putting a fully loaded Dell 2950, two other servers, and lots of...
