Bedding Advice (Sheets not ahem) :D

I've slept on some very nice bedding in my life. We buy the panda bedding from pandalondon.com. Highly recommended.

    Split Air con

I've had mine serviced a few times now. They mentioned the fan needed changing next time as it was covered in dust/mould etc. I had a look and it was disgusting. I've seen videos where the AC companies take them out, give them a good blast with water/detergent then once dry put them back in like...

    Split Air con

I am out of touch on pricing. Why not get a few quotes in? Pricing should be a bit cheaper before around April when more people want to get it installed before the summer.

    Basic Plumbing Question

Does the grey dishwasher pipe fit on to the white connector with a tight fit? Do you need the black adapter? It doesn't look like its pushed on very far.

    Can I hack my dishwasher?

That seems a bit excessive. Maybe you have items blocking the spray arms too. I clean my filter maybe once a month, sometimes every 2 months. I also only use the eco cycle on my bosch.

    Can I hack my dishwasher?

I think you probably have got something too big in your dishwasher and its hitting the spray arm under the top rack, or something is poking through the bottom rack and stopping the spray arm from spinning. I have a bosch and had the same problem until I found my plates were too big when...

    Split Air con

I remembered to set mine to come on a few hours before I got home whilst I was at work. It was lovely getting in the house after the bike ride. My outside unit is pretty quiet, it's more the fan moving air noise I can hear. A few meters away it is barely audible though.

    Scaffolding

Has the scaffolding firm been paid? That's the reason why it was left on mine, although I hadn't received an invoice until I phoned up and asked why it was still there. As soon as I paid the invoice, it was removed the next day.

Chamois leather vs microfibre cloth for drying windows

Squeegee and microfibre cloth for our shower, works a treat and no marks on it. Barely needs cleaning every 2 weeks and looks great still. We do have a water softener though as we live in a hard water area and that helps keep it in good shape.

Fire Thread! - Stoves, Wood, Axes, Chainsaws

Haha :D I would try the axe in the vice method, it's surprisingly good! I think it uses less effort too.

Fire Thread! - Stoves, Wood, Axes, Chainsaws

Because its dangerous when trying to split small bits for kindling!

Fire Thread! - Stoves, Wood, Axes, Chainsaws

I clamp an axe in my vice (blade facing up) and use a hammer to hit bits of wood against it, works like a charm each time for kindling!

How to change this light bulb?

Does the fascia twist anti clockwise? That should give you access to the bulb.

Anyone built their own internal wardrobes? Recommended suppliers?

I built one for the wife earlier in the year. We had a quote about 3 years ago for a local company to come in and they wanted £900 back then to do it. It's an awkward small little space with a sloped ceiling. My thought to was to split it in half and have a high and lower hanging rail. After...

    Split Air con

I only have AC in the upstairs (2 floors) of my house so I end up wearing shorts and tshirt in the house, otherwise I get too hot when I go downstairs. I set the office to 24c and sometimes that feels too cold with shorts on.

    Solar film experience?

I am in a 2013 'new build' and get the sun on the back of the house for the majority of the day. I had someone install (internal) 'Silver 20' solar film on 2 patio doors and 7 window panes. £280 inc vat. I have had it for 2 years now and as stated above it helps keep the room temp a few degrees...

    Split Air con

The wife has had ours on every night for the last 3 weeks as she is now suffering from hayfever with the windows open all night. Although I am conscious of the energy costs, I also get a much better sleep with it on and the windows shut. We have ours on 22c which feels like 19c in the room.
