Pensions - Are you worried about the future?

Yes, using up unused previous years' allowances.

Pensions - Are you worried about the future?

Currently paying £4k p/m into mine via salary sacrifice. The poll is somewhat meaningless as everyone has different retirement goals (i.e. when they want to retire, and what they want to do in retirement), and of course everyone has variable ages so will therefore have significant differences in...

Google Pixel 7/7 Pro & Pixel Watch

Whoops just realised I didn't select trade in when ordering from CPW - I'm doing click and collect, do you think they'll sort that for me when I pitch up? I've got a Google Pixel 3 which is worth about £40 but am I correct in thinking that their offer will top this up by another £100?

    Mortgage Rate Rises

I've been offered 3.87% for five years, think it's probably wise to just take that?

    Mortgage Rate Rises

My fixed rate ends at the end of March next year, am I correct in thinking that I can lock in a new rate 6 months in advance, i.e. in October?

    Which Uni?

If he's going into Law I'd definitely pick Warwick over the other two.

    What watch do you wear?

Oof - I dropped my lovely Nomos Orion on to a hard surface... it's stopped working and the winding mechanism just winds and winds without starting the watch... Is it worth me contacting them to get it repaired directly or am I okay going to reputable watch place, e.g. Watches of Switzerland to...

Just gave blood again, do you?

Yeah definitely didn't receive anything by text - and in fact it was a text I received from them which made me book a session to give blood! Nevermind - not a big deal as I didn't have to walk far. Will try and catch them next time.

Just gave blood again, do you?

Whoops, I arrived to give blood today and it transpires if you had the vaccine within the past 7 days you can't! To be fair if I'd done a deep dive on the website I would've seen that but I think they should make that a little more prominent, I can't have been the only one.

Poverty rate among working households in UK is highest ever

I'm not sure that's quite right - there are families reliant on food banks. The increase in the number of people relying on food banks in the past year is shocking.

Removing a chimney breast - building regulations?

Simply because I have been Googling around the subject this afternoon (as I am looking to do similar), I think the owner above does need to liaise with Building Control, and serve Party Wall Act Notices to the neighbours (assuming it is a shared chimney stack with a property on the other side)...

    Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

That's true, but do look at the dividends of the major UK stocks. I think the US market is a better play for the under 40s but for projections above that age and beyond the FTSE isn't so bad at face value.

Budget 2021: Mortgage guarantee to help buyers with 5% deposit

Ahh it's a lovely place :) It is difficult, especially in London a lot of the house building projects are tied in with wider regeneration. Battersea and Nine Elms is a good example of that but I agree there is definitely a wasted opportunity to build genuinely affordable housing, and I am not...

House prices rose 7.3% this year, average now almost £250k

Haha quite. Landlords seem to be the one group of people who expect stonks, and fail to acknowledge that their investment can decrease in value.

First time home owner - any tips?

My recommendation is to visit at different times of days / different days, just to get a sense of what the area is like.
