The Xonar DS provides a clearer more detailed sound than the Extreme Audio. The Extreme tends to boost bass and a produces a warm but muddled sound. The Xonar also has a socket for the OpAmp which allows you to buy other OpAmps for £5-£10 and tweak the sound to your taste. I can recommend the...

I recently had this problem with a Gigabyte board - I followed the flash procedure to the letter - backed up the old bios to a USB stick, flashed the new bios and it verified okay then rebooted expecting to go into the bios and set everything to...
Thinking of getting a Foxconn P45AL to replace my Gigabyte EP31-DS3L - better overclocking potential as it has 8pin supply to the CPU and the EP31 suffers from vdroop/vdrop - more SATA ports and the option to select IDE mode which should fix my LG BH10LS30 drive disappearing when resuming from...
Just ordered a B Grade P5Q deluxe (from here of course) which should be here in a day or two. Currently overclocking my Q6600 G0 SLACR from 2.4 to 3.0 on a GA-EP31-DS3L (very easy, very stable and cool) and looking to hit 3.6 with the new board.
Im aware that the Asus board has a few more...
Im interested in the Foxconn P45AL because I notice it has a 8-pin 12v CPU supply rather than the usual 4-pin. I have a GA-EP31-DS3L which I can get to 3ghz but not any higher stably because (I think) of the vdroop. Does the 8-pin supply mean it has better voltage stability and better...
Just got one of these X1950pro's and its a cracking card for the money.
I had recently bought a 8600GT for £67 plus postage (shall not say where from) and that was a pretty good card until I tried the volt mod :( so this was an unplanned purchase but the X1950 blows the 8600GT away.
Ive...
Firstly the OP needs to specify how much RAM on the card and how much system RAM he has - then what settings he tries to run FEAR at. Anything over medium textures needs at least 256mb on the card and over 1gb in the system or you'll get regular HDD access and stutter.
