Prezzie From Gigabyte, AB350m Gaming 3 Mobo Only

stock voltage for these chips is generally 1.18v or thereabout, so a dynamic voltage value of +0.168 would equates to about 1.356v. However if you also use AMD Rysen masters app in windows to set voltage then be careful since the voltage you set in rysen app does not overide the dynamic voltage...

That is quite astonishing, but also quite peculiar how the cpu usage is dead 0% from core 7 to 16, normally we should be seeing light workload across all 16 threads no?

Helps improve performance when you are running virtual machines, otherwise it makes 0 difference whether enabled or not. I keep it disabled anyway since I will never need it.

That's AMD's equivalent for virtualisation technology I believe.

Just as I was ranting about the lack of official BIOS, the official stable F6 with updated AGESA 1004 is out so maybe this will solve your mem issue :)

Ah I see, I was only looking at the official website support page, which still had the F5 on it. Thanks!

Which kit? Try going into advance voltage and riase the SOC voltage to +0.15 or so. failing that try raising vcore a little too. I had to have my SOC at +0.180 and the CPU at reduced overclock + vcore at +0.276 offset just for it to boot more successfully at 2933mhz ram. It's just down to the...

Meanwhile over at camp gigabyte the ab350 gaming 3 is still officially on launch day BIOS :o gonna bang them another email to see if there is any more betas I could try out. The memory cold boot issue is a bit of an annoyance to say the least.

yeah it's very strange that Rysen does that, the idle clock will always be 25mhz lower even though all power saving features are turned off. Under load however it goes back up to where it's supposed to be. Good to know I'm not the only one.

Will deliding a 3770k with a top air cooler get me to 5ghz?

i7 3770k delid no ihs, die direct contact with prolimatech megahalems. 4.7ghz 1.32v, temp reaches 80-85 in prime95 small fft. I think it's safe to say 5Ghz is going to be very difficult on air unless you have an absolute golden sample.

    Possibly stupid SATA question

But surely in this case it's the opposite, it would be an 200 mile an hour car on a 70mph motorway.

    Possibly stupid SATA question

Just had a look at the motherboard manual and it has the most complicated SATA layout I've ever seen. As you have rightly pointed out yourself, it is actually only the 2 white GSATA3_6/7 ports on the right provided by the Marvell 9128 chip that have SATA3 support. Make sure you go into the BIOS...

Maybe a sign of instability. Some mad self error correcting going on behind the scenes dragging scores down instead of just throwing up a BSOD. Whenever I got low scores upping the vcore a notch or two fixed it.

RYZEN DDR4 MEMORY, WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

^^ looks like it's running 3200mhz pretty nicely?

What are your Ryzen VRM temperatures

Been reading up the specs of the VRM on my board (onsemi NTMFS4C10N and NTMFS4C06N) and it seems they are designed to operate upto 150c according to specsheets, could be reading it wrong though.

My first motherboard was a Jetway K7, got it with Athlon Thunderbird 800Mhz. Wasn't very stable so quickly got rid of it and got a Gigabyte KT133 board afterwards.

Not even if you up the SOC voltage to 1.15V and vcore to 1.3V+?

    SOME RYZEN 7 1700 OVERCLOCKING!

hmm maybe the graphics card or other PCI-E devices are crapping out. BCLK clock of 103 although not a lot, still allows for RAM speed of 3000mhz instead of 2933 for those with DDR4 3000 kits. Would love to see the tomahawk beating lower end X370 boards for tweakability.

I thought the M2 is using the PCIE lanes provided by B350/X370 chipset? So it prob. has nothing to do with the CPU. Did you try removing the NVME and boot from your old drive and test?
