Perfect time to make a visit to someone you know round here.
No, joking aside I know what you mean, whole point of you downsizing is to save the 100 quid on the rrp. To then spend 10-15 quid on delivery is crap.
I'm not local (Manchester) so shipping would be involved but i do fall into that category of having got a 3060ti FE but at the same time missing out on the 3070 drops.
Subject to both our items turning up, if you were considering this then let me know.
I dunno i mean the eta for delivery said 3rd to the 9th right from the first email so they definitely anticipated not getting them all out at once.
Maybe that's me trying to convince myself rather than you though.
Cheers for the response,
Yeah i think i've been clingging on to the 10,000 rpm 8.1ms seek for too long now!
And if the velociraptor doesn't show and performance advantages over the Black in vista for you then i'm sure moving from my older raptor would be a good move.
My main objective is to...
Thinking of upgrading my curent setup. Curently got a 74GB Raptor for Vista and a 500GB Samsung for data etc.
Need to increase the storage space and was thinking of replacing both drives for a pair of WD 640GB Black in RAID-0.
Anyone give me some advice on whether i'd see any...
I've been looking into getting an 8800 GTS myself and am currently running an Enermax Liberty 400W.
I was thinking i'd need to upgrade the PSU but looking at the above posts and comparing the 28A 12V rating thats needed with the chart at the bottom of THIS specs page then my PSU should be ok...
Don't think there are too many people who have a 6400 yet thats why there wont be many results yet. Speaking as an e6300 user i'd say core duo is a good overclocking chip. I've got mine up to 2.75GHz from 1.8GHz so thats a 50% overclock.
Not sure how much difference the extra 2mb of cache...
The reason CPU-z shows the multiplier as 6 is because thats what speedstep changes it to.
Try turning off the speedstep function in your BIOS and when idle the multiplier stays at 7 instead of droping to 6.
From what i've understood from my experiences with my DQ6 using G.Skill NR RAM and several topics about the DS3 & 4.
All the Gigabyte boards (DS3, 4 and DQ6) seem to have BIOS issues whereby G.Skill (and maybe some other brands) RAM sets itself to CAS 3 by default and switches to this no...
It should work, the problems people are having are that when overclocking the RAM sets itself to CAS 3 meaning the RAM cant reach decent speeds, just running the setup @ stock or using a divider to run the RAM slower shouild be ok. And the problem has been fixed on the DQ6 by the latest beta...
Not sure if it can be done via the @BIOS think you need the q-flash method.
Theres a guide here
might have some help for you but you'll need a floppy drive :(
I own a DQ6 but to be honest most of the great overclocking results i've seen with the e6300 have been with the DS3??
Maybe its down to it being a beteer budget choice that many people have tried the cheaper DS3 but i certainly have no complaints with the DQ6 and the DTS connect feature is...
I got it from a link posted by a member on XS forums
Click
thats the link.
Or
Here
is the thread i got it from.
Note: It is a beta version not an official release so thats why it isn't on the Gigabyte website.
I've got the DQ6 motherboard working fine with the G.Skill 6400 NR kit.
Instead of the mystique sound card upgrade to the DQ6 it has Dolby Digital Live and DTS connect on board sound. Which i presume is why you would have wanted to get the sound card.
