I've just done it, but wont know if it's fixed the problem till I've booted the machine a few times. Thanks for the suggestion.

The machine is dust free, and I am not sure how a BIOS update would help. Surely the current BIOS should be perfectly capable of handling this? The board is only 4 months old, so am not sure this is the problem. Please do correct me if I am wrong. :)

On booting my PC last night, I heard the BIOS beep code for a non-functioning chip fan, and a message on the POST screen said the same thing (Asus A8N-SLI SE). I then checked for a faulty connector or similar, but there is nothing to incidate that this is the problem. On the first reboot...

bumped. getting a bit worried now. i know that rundll32.exe is a system file, so if i found a file with the same name anywhere else on my PC there would probably be cause for alarm. this is not the case though, but i would still very much like to know why it is now running under my user name...

forgot to mention that it's running under my user name, not SYSTEM or anything else. never seen it do this before.

since this morning, rundll32.exe appears to be starting whenever i boot my machine. if i terminate the process i can be sure that windows explorer will have to close within about a minute. any ideas as to what could have caused this change? i have not installed / uninstalled anything...

If you just burn the mp3s as data any new-ish dvd player should be able to read them. Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 > Nero.

Can anyone recommend a good program to convert .ram files to mp3? Basically there are some streaming audio files on the Radio 4 site which I would like to transfer to my hard drive. The Google results for "ram to mp3 converter" look somewhat dubious... Thanks
