I have an opty 165 at 2.4, and an x1800xt 256. I can run it with all the sliders up an 1280x1024, but I use HDR and no AA. Get a little stuttering in forests during the day, but is's fine other than that. I have 2gb Gskill zx, maybe that makes the difference.

Oblivion was crashing for me, so I closed down pretty much everything I had running in the background (Xfire, msn, FRAPs etc) and it became much more stable. Occasionally it still crashes and goes back to windows. My cpu is overclocked, but for I didn't get these problems at first, they started...

Check the clearance section, some nice 6800GTs for under £100, or there were last time I checked anyway.

I get around 1700 marks with my opty 165 at 2340, on a 166 divider. So why yours is low I have no idea.

And don't forget, the 7800 has SM3 and HDR support, if you like that sort of thing.

I get 8894 in 05 with an opty 165@2340, 2gb Gskill ZX and an X1800XT. Is that reasonable or should I be getting more?

I've had one for the last six months, and it's brilliant. I prefer it over an iPod, or any other competitor I've had a go on. Easy to use, great sound quality and extra features like the FM tuner and colour screen.

Mine's at about 45 load at stock, but went to 50C at 2380mhz. Using stock cooler, 80mm and 92mm in the front, 80mm in the side and 2 80mm in the rear. It's just abouve 30C idle though, with cool and quiet off.
