    New SSD for my requirements

Just bought a Samsung 830 myself... a few days before the 840 came out, doh! Great drives though, the 256GB is a good value price point IMO.

    Hosting Companies

Another recommendation for Tsohost here, I'm on a clustered plan. It's a great package and their support are brilliant, on first name terms with them! Think they are offering 10% off all hosting packages at the moment if you use code XMAS10

    ICH8R RAID + Samsung F1 1TB = Fail

Fixed now :D For future reference, I tried a fix here - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/241402-32-slow-drive-detection-raid-boot Basically if this happens to you, set the SATA mode to IDE in the BIOS, then let it load up, then reboot and change the SATA mode back to RAID and then it...

    ICH8R RAID + Samsung F1 1TB = Fail

I've just bought 3x1TB Samsung F1 drives to replace my current 2x250GB RAID 0 drives. They will be going in RAID 5. Upon turning on the computer the RAID screen comes up and takes AGES to see the drives. I mean like at least 3 minutes. Eventually I was able to create the RAID, but everytime...

    XP + 4GB Ram

I gave Vista a go - when I first installed it I liked it, especially knowing it was 64-bit and making the full potential of my 4GB ram. It slowly went down in my opinion for the following reasons: - Wireless would randomly drop out whenever playing a Steam game. Vista would just make the...

    XP + 4GB Ram

No, trust me, it's upgrading! :p There aren't any problems with the RAM, it might just be configuration.

    XP + 4GB Ram

256MB Graphics so I can't see what else could be using upto 4GB. If I set the BIOS option to use the "memory remap" feature, the BIOS sees 4GB, XP sees 2GB. If I disable that option, the BIOS only sees 3GB, and XP sees 2.93GB.

    XP + 4GB Ram

I just disabled the "memory remap" feature in the BIOS so that the BIOS now shows 3GB instead of 4GB. XP now sees "2.93GB" instead of 2GB so it's certainly done something! I don't expect to see the 4GB as I know it's not possible. Is this the best I can get though?

    XP + 4GB Ram

The BIOS sees the 4GB fine (had to enable a setting in the BIOS for that). I've just moved from Vista64 which saw 4GB to XP32 and it's only seeing the 2GB.

    XP + 4GB Ram

I'm sure this has been covered before but I can't search for "XP" as it's too short :( I have a P5B Deluxe board with 4x1GB RAM. The BIOS sees 4GB, and so do 64-bit operating systems. XP32 can only see 2GB. I thought it was possible for it to see 3 or 3.5 at least. I read that I might...

Recommend me a decent 2.1 system?

Hi guys, Can anyone recommend a decent 2.1 system. Probably looking at < £50/70. I have a 5.1 system at the moment, but have never setup the speakers properly and 2.1 should be fine for my needs. Many thanks. :)

    DVI Laptop Required

Hello, I'm trying to find a DVI laptop for around £500, can anyone help? It seems hard to find a laptop with a DVI output, I find this very strange when so many pcs are coming with DVI only graphics cards these days. Thanks

Is it better to have 1:1 CPU/RAM fsb ratio or quicker ram if it can take it?

That looks good. I'm trying to get the cpu to 400fsb if possible. I've done it on this board before with a different processor. What's the max vcore an e4400 can take safely?

Is it better to have 1:1 CPU/RAM fsb ratio or quicker ram if it can take it?

Thanks :) I'm going to see if I can get the cpu FSB to go any higher, then I'll take the ram up as far as it can go. I should still be able to get CAS 4 figures on it.
