    mITX gaming on 52"??

Hi group, I've used this forum before with great satisfaction researching htpc's etc :) Now I've begun wondering if it was possible to build a relatively low-noise (as low or lower as a ps3 slim preferably) mini itx system designed for gaming on a 52" lcd? Perhaps not crysis or so but...

    Can't decide on mATX system

I need to built 2 HTPCs mainly, main wishes are silence, relatively small and capable of 1080p. It would be a big plus if soft gaming was possible. I'd therefor like to steer clear of Atoms and been looking at Silverstone LC12 or SG06 for cases, if I could go smaller I'd love that but that...

    Media Storage Server

I have 4 full 750gb HDD's in my main pc which I can't have always on, so looking to move that data to another location. Also trying to be aware of the future, not doing HD backups now just can't bother with all that data, but plan to backup dvd's and cd's which will take a large chunk of space...

    Media Storage Server

Do you have any links or tutorials on that? I've always noticed how people say they've 5/7v modded them, never knew what it requires though. Yeah I suppose I'll find some quier 500gb drives to start with, seagate most likely I reckon?

    Media Storage Server

That's actually pretty incredible, you could probably even whack 2 entire systems in there aswell. Motherboards and all. It's double the cost aswell though :) Any idea if a mid-level system (passive cooled cpu) with only the psu (120mm fan) and some fans at the hdd's would be relatively quiet...

    Media Storage Server

I meant the Lian Li PC-A16A, not sure where I would put the PC343B in my flat :) Definately doesn't fit into my closet hehe. So I was thinking going with the A16A, a mATX motherboard with onboard video, stick of ram and a little cpu. I already have one of those backbones from icydock which...

    Media Storage Server

I absolutely love that Lian-Li case and it has so much room for drives, even internally that it would probably last me a few years, the case would probably be the most expensive part of the system. Then I'd need a cpu, motherboard, ram and psu. Doesn't even have to be that powerfull, well won't...

    Media Storage Server

I wasn't going to fill it up with harddrives from day one, was more thinking about being able to expand really. I'd have 5 drives in it from the get-go :) Any recommendations on your other idea though? Haven't seen any cheap NAS devices around, I can't really go below the 5 initial drives. I...

    Media Storage Server

Morning, I've been looking into expanding my digital media (backing up everything literally) , now my main pc is in my bedroom so can't just have that running 24/7 would drive me crazy. So I thought about buying a motherboard, cpu, ram and a case to use as a file server (maybe even use windows...

Big problem with in-laws new pc

I've had a fair share of BSODs, a lot of them were irq-more or not less equal. Each time it was bad drivers, or a certain combination of drivers. Audio and graphic drivers are the first I question, then chipset. Running a ram test if that doesn't work out, usually solves the problem for me...

    mATX G35 or 7150/630i

You must be thinking about the Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H they have here at ocUK, the one I listed is a 7150. Still leaning towards the Asus product though, only seems to be a slight letdown with the audio chip but that's not a big issue. The 7150 boards "only" have a single channel ddr2, whereas...

    mATX G35 or 7150/630i

Need help deciding which mATX motherboard chipset is best for HTPC. Reliability and vendor support means a lot to me, coming from a shuttle with VERY poor support and a nagging problem with Sleep S3 not working. Basically it's down to the latest G35 intel chipset or the Nvidia Geforce 7150 /...

    SN68PTG6 PSU driving me crazy

Evening, People here have always been able to help me with my troubles, now I come to this place in an attempt to cure my only dislike about the SN68PTG6, the PSU fans make a horrid highfrequent noise, all the time. I’ve lifted the case up from the floor with a rubber mat, took of the lid...

    Yikes, clearance issue - help

Looks good, fairly sure it won't take up more space than it's single slot? :) a pain to return stuff from denmark. Tried looking at gigabytes website, but without finding better pictures or specific sizes.

    Yikes, clearance issue - help

I was building a shuttle for HTPC needs, mainboard has HDMI out but can't use it yet since I only have a CRT tv for now. So I went and bought: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT Ultimate Silent 256MB http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-158-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938...

    Shuttle HTPC

Nice, a lot cheaper :) didn't notice it hehe. Regarding the AMD CPU, anyone know if the MD 5200+ sold at OC.uk is the 65watt one? The 6000+ uses double the watt, which is probably bad for heat/noise/cooling I reckon.

    Shuttle HTPC

I went with the SN68PTG6 because I tend to prefer the nvidia chipset over the intel, atleast has full support for hdcp :) Hoping this will be able to sit in my livingroom without too much noise, how's the hardware? Will have to get a tuner card from somewhere else it seems, and the vista...

    SFF HTPC?

Thanks, you've been really helpfull :) If I were to go with a shuttle, which of these would be best? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-098-SH&groupid=43&catid=110&subcat=508 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-092-SH&groupid=43&catid=110&subcat=343...

    SFF HTPC?

Evening, I've been toying with the idea of a clienter/server environment for htpc usage. A server with a bunch of tv-tuners and storage to service a few small clients. I only so far know of sagetv, mythtv and beyondtv that support this kinda of client/server environment, are there others...
