Which is best is very much a subjective question.
Best for me is the Touch Pro. Others might say the Touch HD, iPhone, Blackberry, or some offering from Nokia, SE etc.
It all depends what you want out of your phone and how much your willing to pay.
*thinks you must be working for Orange*
Sorry that's a load of rubbish, Orange didn't offer a discount on the contract and the cost of the phone was crazy.
Loyalty points don't mean anything.
Orange seem to have lost the plot completely. Given the upgrade prices of the Omnia and Diamond I'm not surprised with the price. I didn't upgrade and went to Vodaphone instead on the Touch Pro.
Should be able to yes, some providers don't like you doing it but yes you should be able to. On my Touch Pro when I connect via USB I also get an option to put it into 'modem' mode which is another way of doing it.
I don't think it's anything to do with trying to make phones compact. It's a fact of life with phones that have every feature under the sun WILL use their batteries more heavily. Most PDA/Phone users will have bluetooth/GPS/WiFi running some or all of the day, not to mention a data connection...
I'm guessing that it probably is. Your contract is for the Samsung. Any support is for the Samsung and as such yes I would say it probably is.
Best bet if you don't like the Samsung would probably be to sell it on ebay then buy a 3G phone that you do like.
All that can easily be accomplished with a HTC Diamond, Touch Pro or Touch HD. Also the iPhone.
Personally I'd go for the Pro or HD as they have better screens and expandable memory.
Touch Pro or Touch HD IMO - with the higher screen rez and a decent browser = IMO the best browsing experience. The Iphone was the first to give full screen browsing but Opera does it very well. It's different but no harder than the Iphone's multi touch and the extra rez is highly noticeable.
In theory You can do it in three ways on a HD or Pro. Probably the easiest is actually wireless where your phone becomes a router. Connecting either via USB gives you 3 options, one of which is 'become a modem'. Doing it that way has the added benefit of allowing you to recharge the phone. Then...
Well said - and let's be honest, who needs more than 24 hours battery life ( when using the e:mail options - 72 hours approx if you have e:mail turned off and aren't using wi-fi or bluetooth).. get home plug it in your PC to synch it.. oh hang on it's charging.. get in the car, plug it into the...
I find it incredibly surprising that they rate the Touch Pro below the E71 but the HD above. Given the Pro has the keyboard and only slightly worse screen I'd say the two are basically the same ( KB + 640x480 or no KB + 800x480) the choice comes down the whether you want a KB or not. Other than...
My favourites where the M3100 and touch Pro. Didn't like the Touch although my son uses it now. The Razr and Samsung also ended up in kids hands for a while.
Interesting review, have you tried Opera on a winmo with a VGA (or higher) screen. From what I've seen of an iphone the combination is superior as you can just about read the zoomed out text making navigation easier.
Orange are indeed terrible at the moment. I ended up going Vodaphone but if you really want to stay with Orange then your best best is transferring to Virgin, then getting a new contract at orange and transferring back ( thus keeping your number ).
HTC Touch Pro or HD are also worthwhile considering.
Both have very clear high rez screens which is quite nice for navigation and being windows mobile come with a compact office suite, games and other usefull apps ( plus others you can get.).
Both have built in Sat Nav which works well...
Yes you can, all be it by being a bit sneaky. I spoke to someone in the Business shop in Birmingham and she said "I just put you down as a sole trader". In my case I just bent the truth slightly and said I was a 'freelance journalist' which is very close to being the truth.
