    Mini-Review: Samsung 40KU6400 as a monitor

Probably a dumb question but here goes... how good will this screen be when not using full 4k resolution with a PC? My machine has HDMI1.2 and Displayport and may connect laptop via DVI. Let's say I can only go somewhere between 1080p and 4k resolution will this look naff? If I am limited to...

    Help with overclock - i5 750 at 4Ghz

So I've been playing around with this and have managed to get something working with the following settings for 4Ghz Mult 20 BLCK 200 vCore 1.35v vtt auto DRAM 1.66 LLC - level 2 Now I'm a total newbie to this but what should I be trying to get the vCore down? I tried experimenting with vtt...

    Help with overclock - i5 750 at 4Ghz

In my BIOS do I need to manually set the timings or should it auto-set based on memory multiplier setting? Is the CPU-Z timings table on the SPD tab the guide which I should follow for desired memory settings? What should I set my QPI to - x32/x36 are the options. What about LLC is it required?

    Help with overclock - i5 750 at 4Ghz

Thanks for quick response. Would this be due to any particular BIOS setting? I have set: Memory Multiplier - 8.0 Performance enhancement - standard Timing mode - quick

    Help with overclock - i5 750 at 4Ghz

I have a bundle from OCUK from a few years back which was supposed to be 4Ghz but it only ever stayed at 3.8. I've been playing around with some settings and have it running now at 4Ghz with a 200 BLK 20 multipler. Below are my CPU-Z screens. I haven't a clue if these look ok or not but...

The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

I haven't used EFB but PFPX is like the real world planning tools that dispatchers use to generate flight briefing packages with route info, enroute weather, notams, wind data at each waypoint etc. I have seen a few samples and there is around 30 pages of data generated per flight (depending on...

PFPX has been released but the servers are taking a hammering. I've decided as much as I love the flight planning side of things to hold off on this one. FSX is really annoying me at the moment as I just can't get it tweaked properly to avoid the blurries.

Exciting! Avsim was down for quite a while on the news. PFPX and the 777 in the same week isn't bad!

YouTube access - can I filter by channel?

Any specific products? I believe that blocked sites currently are flagged up with a Websense message though I may be wrong on this.

YouTube access - can I filter by channel?

So I've no clue really about corporate networks and the filtering techniques employed, but in theory is there any way for a comms team to block access to YouTube but allow access only for a specific channel? If the url format was something like youtube.com/mychannel/videoguid then I suspect...

    *****Official Ashes thread*****

Just catching up on the day after being out and can't believe this crazy selection. Feel sorry for Tremlett. How on earth did he not get picked? Throwing one new guy into a nice-to-win test is a big enough change but its baffling to have two new guys in, especially given Englands reluctance to...

So apparently PFPX will be released in the next week or two. Looks like an amazing tool for those who take flight planning seriously but sounds like there will be some subscription required for database updates/winds aloft data etc. Not many details at the moment but I don't think this would put...

    *****Official Ashes thread*****

Last time I saw Woakes bowl he was awful - lots of short rubbish a la Steven Finn. Haven't seen much of Kerrigan but it certainly looks like Monty has gone for a while.

Before you reach TOD are you reselecting the altitude window on the MCP? You will need to reset it to a lower value so that descent will start automatically if you are in VNAV. Usually I flick into V/S mode and begin a gradual descent (so not to shake up my passengers!) at maybe around...

Yes for more realism you should look at either the iFly 737 or the PMDG 737 NGX. I have the latter and it is outstanding.

Ah, you are using the default aircraft. VNAV is modelled in some of the more advanced addons where you can program a route into the flight management computer and the vertical profile will be calculated automatically. If you are using the default aircraft you will need to control your...

Do you have VNAV selected in the MCP (autopilot panel)?

Just check the version no. of the uiautomationcore.dll. I believe it has to be a specific version.
