You must be unlucky with your cards... When I first installed my KFA2 HOF I thought there was a lawnmower in my room but after discovering the stupid button on the backplate I can confirm it runs nice & quiet at idle.
I am so far very happy with my HOF & bought one for my Bro - his is also fine!
I have a spare GTX 780 GTX Ti
Thinking of dropping this into a spare rig for occasional gaming at HD... However would I get a performance boost if I sold & picked up a 1060 instead? I haven't been able to find any comparative charts with last gen GPUs to compare...
Thanks
Aaaaaaaahhhhh - button....
I wondered what that did & was too scared to press it! I can now hear myself think!!!
Thanks...! :)
Should be something about this in the box & there are hardly any reviews of the card for me to find out what the features actually are!
Just installed my new KFA2 1080 GTX HOF with the Geforce 373.06 drivers...
Seems to be working fine except fans clearly running at full speed all the time... Deafening me already...
Has been like this since I turned system back on
Card seems to be working fine... Temps excellent as...
Are KFA2 a premium board partner for Nvidia...?
Reliability is important for me - don't want to go messing around with RMA if I find card unstable at it's out of box OC....
Thanks! Hopefully the RMA will be processed without issue - Will let you know if not...
Is the replacement likely to be GTX580 or is an equivalent card more likely after all this time?
Unfortunately I threw it away as I assumed there would be other identifiers on the card? To be honest I think the sticker is an odd choice for a S/N. After 3 years in a hot/dry case I am surprised any of these stay on...
I did raise a ticket & obtained an RMA. I did say sticker had gone but...
RMA
I need to RMA an EVGA 580 GTX - has quite simply stopped working... However the orignal sticker carrying the S/N has dried out & fallen off the back of the card. I also no longer have the original box. Will this still be OK to RMA? I am a loyal EVGA customer having purchased many cards for...
Quick tech query this one...
About to pop in my new EVGA gfx card...
Been a while since I dropped in a new card - usually I build whole new system from scratch...
When I was a lad it used to be recommended to clear the CMOS b4 installing new card but I can't be bothered messing around...
Cards purchased Nov 2010
Cheers
If it helps have already bought an EVGA classified 780GTX Ti to drop in as replacement for now... ;) Do I need to update the BIOS if I just want to run it at stock?
Warranty?
Hi EVGA
I bought a pair of GTX 580 in Nov 2010 to run in SLI. This weekend my screen suddenly corrupted & crashed. Subsequent attempts to boot to windows failed with graphics corruption starting at the Mobo boot screen. A bit of troubleshooting later & it turns out that the top...
That's a bit of a surprise - there are some great reviews around about the windforce cooler... Is there a problem with the heatsink fitting on your card?
Money not too much of a problem so i am prepared to pay for the headroom...
The KingPin edition looks like it might take a bit of effort to keep it running & I am sorry to say my extreme overclocking days are behind me - i now prefer safe stability....
What makes the EVGA classified better...
Sigh - one of my 580GTX (SLI rig) cards has finally given up... :((
Time for a new card methinks & would like one of the new 780GTX ti cards.
Not been keeping up with developments of late so is there a consensus as to which Brand/Card is the best? I would prefer a moderate OC out of the...
I don't think I explained myself very well in OP... I don't want to use any software to control fans/cooling in windows... I am trying to use BIOS but basicaly when i select CPU Q-fan control Turbo then my fans do not spin up even when system under full load (which is how turbo mode works on...
I have this Mobo Bios Vers 0701 (might have to update this.....)
I am using the H80i with 2 new SP120 PWM fans attaches to the mobo headers. I dont want to install Corsair Link as I don't like tray programs when I can just use the BIOS settings... However asus qfan control in BIOS seems to be...
Fair enough - not started my clocking yet but happy to use whatever volts I need to get stable as long as within safe limits - will probably not push much beyond 1.35v...
I have a Corsair H80i with two of the Corsair SP fans @ 2350rpm.... Probably gonna swap the fans though as they are a bit...
Finally playing around in the BIOS of my new 2700K & Maximus V rig.... Win 7.
This will not be my primary gaming PC although I need it to run some games - stability will be a major concern so what OC should I be looking at for 24/7 use? Seems these chips will do 4.7ghz so would 4.4 be sensible...
