    AMD Zen 5 rumours

From the leaks, it looks like AVX and INT performance is getting a big boost so things like Cinebench could get a 40%+ bump. Most things will probably see < 20%. CPU limited games that use AVX could also do well, but most are not that CPU heavy. Just fixing all the Zen4 security issues could...

    Would you tip game devs?

The company would not give the devs the tips anyway, or they would take a 99.99% handling fee or some **** like that.

    Budget mb+r5 7600 or mid range mb+ i5 12400f

I have a 6900XT and Blender runs great, I don’t do much, just open files and do a bit of tweaking then export as .obj files so I can use them in 3D code I'm working on. A 7700xt should be fine unless you need CUDA.

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Yes, CPU does all the work. Uses Vulkan to display the result. I get 60-62ms but am using ECO 65W. Need to add special partitioning so I can load better scenes. If you leave it running a min, the image quality get nice, can also change the Emission Colour in the right panel, click reset or it...

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

I think it will be 10-15% IPC with some new AI instructions and maybe an NPU. Hopefully some more cores, my 7950X is getting battered running path tracer code.

Been playing the PTR, some good changes. Think S4 should be good.

ASUS X670E Stutter/mouse lag freezing when Windows 11 boot on session

I don’t have the same hardware as you but my AM5 had a stutter problem for 3-4 months. Don’t know what it was but it’s gone now. It was not just at login, it was random 2-5s stutters at the desktop, games ran fine though. Check the even viewer for errors, might help spot an issue. Also, disable...

    ARM is coming.

MS can do a x86 emulator that only uses the ISA instruction that the copyright/patents have timed out for. Last time I read about this (5+ years ago), they had a fully 386 one so it must be a lot better by now. Software that uses the newest instructions will be the biggest problem as Intel will...

What to buy today please? 7950x and Hynix RAM overclocking

I don’t have that RAM, been thinking of upgrading to that. I got my RAM over a year ago when the fastest RAM was 6000 and it cost 50% more. I got a 32GB 5600 kit just to wait for a good 64/96GB kit to replace it with.

What to buy today please? 7950x and Hynix RAM overclocking

There is no guarantee it will run at 6400 CL34 but it will have been binned to run at that on a test system so it will probably (95% chance) be good Hynix A. Chances are you could set the XMP and if you have issues just drop it to 6200/6000 but it depends on the quality of CPU’s memory...

What to buy today please? 7950x and Hynix RAM overclocking

I use my PC for work so don’t OC. My last 3-4 Board have been ASUS so went with ASUS. I got the ASUS B650E-E STRIX as it seems to have most of the high-end features at the best value, it’s now ~£65 cheaper than when I got it. The ASUS B650E-F also looks like a good option. I don’t know if the...

What to buy today please? 7950x and Hynix RAM overclocking

For me, it was between the ASUS X670E Hero and ASUS B650E-E STRIX mainboards. I went with an ASUS B650E-E STRIX as its half the price and has everything I needed. For RAM, I would get a (2*32) 6400 kit (CTCED564G6400HC34BDC01).

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

I disagree, if all you do is game, then get the X3D, if you do real work then the X can be the faster option. Most software gets little to no benefit from the extra L3.

Jedec approved DDR5 6400 a few months back - when will we see 1.1v DDR5 6400 on sale?

The RAM will probably default to 4800 for both AMD and Intel. It's unlikely that AMD/Intel will add any profiles for current hardware.
